So since player levels have obsoleted any need for strategy against it, and the drops are outdated, and the Escha version works differently... Will the devs comment and reveal how it was actually intended to be defeated, which that video never made clear? That NM was patched constantly every time someone figured out a way to defeat it, until Abyssea raised our levels enough to not fear Meteor and the damage resistance. Seriously, the lengths gone to by the developers to keep that NM undeefeated were unlike anything done to any other NM. Blood Weapon resistance was created for that, as well as Modus Veritas for helixes being changed entirely, because someone posted the concept (never got the chance to even try to pull it off) of trying to stack it so that Helix damage would one-shot it, as well as the usual things of fixing it from getting stuck in a wall. A few people would defeat it or get close, and the NM would be patched so that the loot would be forever rare. Then they just completely gave up on patching it anymore. It's not like there's a players guide that can be referred to for a solution either. It's an ultimate "Guide Dang It" trope example, except there is no guide.

They basically intended for you keep fighting it till you locked all the 2hrs and wear it down to death over the course of many hours. Incidentally the escha version is similar in that you can lock the 2hrs but you have a strict time limit so you don't have time to durdle doing that and it's more of a do a bunch of dmg fast and hope it doesn't bene

Did AV previously not have the 2hr limit starting the time you popped JoL?

Not originally. It wasn't until the PW fiasco that they changed it. I believe the vid of the devs doing it they said they fought for like 16 hours (you definitely see all the game days go by multiple times and the same characters leaving and coming back to use different job 2hrs to lock AV more) and something about it was supposed to take awhile.

I don't understand any game design choice that forces players to forget their real lives and stay logged in for almost a complete day in order to eliminate just one enemy...
That seems rather unhealthy.

Unhealthy you say?
