First, I want to say that I think the forums as they are right now are relatively well done, and I enjoy seeing such a large community so active in one location, as opposed to the 4-5 places you would have to go before.

However, there are a couple things that have been bugging me pretty much since the beginning. The most notable of these are the 'new posts'. This is the primary way I (and judging by how high the search ID is already, many other people) can keep up with such a large amount of activity. However, depending on when you run the search you will pull up VERY different results. For example, in the morning (US) almost every thread will be Japanese. In the evening, it will be largely German. I would like to see a way to restrict new posts to specific languages -- I can only speak English, and Google Translate is meh at best, so it's a very long process to have to find English threads amongst the rest that have been updated since I last looked.

Secondly, while I appreciate the fact that the forums remember my login for a seemingly long time, requiring the one-time-password associated with my account can be quite hazardous. I normally play the game from my home, but view the forums and other things from my laptop while I'm in school (some distance from my home). Because of this, if I forget my keyfob and get logged out of the forums, there's no way for me to log back in until I get home on the weekends. While I understand that the forum ToS specifies potentially harsh punishments for unwanted behavior, and thus getting a hacked account banned in-game for a forum post would be easier without the OTP, I still feel it's quite excessive security. I would also hope such punishments are incredibly rare, if they happen at all.

Any comments/suggestions regarding this would also be appreciated.

hmm... never really thought much about filtering the New Posts results--don't even use them myself. My shortcut goes directly to the English Forums only, and I just look at the icons for each section--blue icons mean new posts. Then I just hit the sections I'm really interested in going through.

Might be a bit tricky for them to filter it out, since it is a global button in the main structure for the site. Maybe if they added a column in the results to identify which forum they were from so you could more readily identify them (just a simple thing like French, English, etc.--or maybe a flag icon?). Alternatively, they could add a "New Post" button on the overview page for that language's forum (ie: when you click on the "English Forums" link) so that it is only showing new posts within that language's forum only. That would leave the one on the top level functioning as it currently does.

Not sure how they are tracking our login. Could be a cookie, so your login remains active so long as you are loading the site from the last system (or possibly IP address) you used the token on. I've only had to use my token twice since the site went up--but I'm always browsing it from the same laptop too, and my IP doesn't change unless I change out my router and my ISP detects a new MAC Address at the modem.

Another suggestion along these lines: When I close the site, and then subsequently come back to it at another time, all of the sections that I have recently visited are back in blue, even if the last post in said topic was by me. I click on it, and then go back to the main forum and it's fixed, but it does this every time I log out, essentially requiring that I visit every forum to see where new stuff actually is.

Maybe just a bug? Iunno.
