Dodge
Accrued at Monk Job Level 15, Dodge: Enhances evasion. Just like its counterpart, Focus, it cannot be utilized as an "always up" skill. At the very least, a small change allows Monks to keep either Dodge or Focus active.

Here is my idea:

Dodge (Current)
Duration 120 Seconds
Recast 300 Seconds

Dodge (Proposed)
Duration 150 Seconds
Recast 300 Seconds

Chakra
Accrued at Monk Job Level 35, Chakra: Cures certain status effects and restores a small amount of HP to user. It would be awesome to chunk in a resistance boost to cured effects that lasts a similar time to Red Mage Barblind and Barpoison. Chunk in paralysis for good measure.

Here is my idea:

Chakra (Current)
Recast 300 Seconds
Cures Blindness
Cures Poison

Chakra (Proposed)
Recast 180 Seconds
Cures Blindness
Cures Poison
Cures Paralysis
Enhances your resistance against blindness, poison & paralysis

Why? It makes no sense, why do you need to have at least 1 of them active?

What makes no sense is arbitrary downtime between the use of skills. It makes the game less fun and more plodding. And this same concept is already present in Final Fantasy 14

Footwork
Accrued at Monk Job Level 65, Footwork: Adds kick attacks to auto-attacks while this effect is active. I hate the change to this skill but it has to be more useful then it is now. 4 full minutes of downtime isn't ideal, but I can see not blowing up DPS balance. How about some middle ground?

Mantra
Accrued at Monk Job Level 75, Mantra: Increases the max HP of party members within area of effect. So just have us grind merits for an awesome skill and give us 7 minutes of downtime? Umm that sucks.

Formless Strikes
Accrued at Monk Job Level 75, Formless Strikes: While in effect, melee attacks will not be considered physical damage. No effect on weapon skills. So just have us grind merits for an awesome skill and give us 7 minutes of downtime? Umm that sucks.

sorry but at 35 and 99 are different lvls and different needs

at 99 you have Chakra set and with it , it heals: Poison , Paralyze , Blindness , Several other status

It needs to be the right settup tho

and as for Resistance, It could be a nice idea


Also if they lower the Recast be cool as hell

Would be nicer if they did Chakra Potency from MOD+1.0 ~> MOD+3.0 raw , that way it heals better :D

My Chakra doing 1,376 HP >< (W/o Rings +1 x2 or Earring +1 x2)

So ya with the +1 be 1,400 HP Chakras ^^/

Neither skill is always up. There's a 30 second loss of time on each skill if you toggle Dodge and Focus. That should be fixed. Not a game balance issue to be had, but it is simply wasted gameplay. Job abilities are there to be used; not just idling for a timer.

It does remove other things, albeit based on gear, not on ilvl. The Temple Cyclas allows it to remove paralysis and boosts the vit modifier from x2 to x3, and the Melee Gloves allow it to remove Disease and further raise the vit modifier by 0.6 (so, 3.6 with cyclas and gloves)

Need AF body 119 + Relic hands 119 + VIT+ armor for chakra if u wanna the best chakra removal and cure

I have a few ideas that would make MNK.

1) Counterstance - Change it so it does not reduce defense, but eliminates any chance of guarding. Then introduce:
2) Guardstance - greatly increases your chances of guarding and increases guard skill, but eliminates the possibility to counter. Similar to Hasso/Seigan they share a timer and buff slot.
3) Invigorate is a regular trait obtained at level 50, with a 10/tic regen effect. The merits into invigorate add a stoneskin effect to chakra. The SS amount is half of the hp healed.
4) lower chi blast to 1 minute timer and:
5) Have penance become a regular trait and inflict plague and have the merits merely extend the duration. Have the trait only originally last 30 seconds, but each merit adds 6 seconds, so 5/5 means the plague can until the chi blast timer is ready.
6) A new ability Curl which increases defense by 12.5% with a 15 second recast timer. Lasts 3 minutes and stacks onto itself similar to boost. This goes hand in hand with:
7) Chi Wave. Deals non-elemental damage to target. Damage varies with defense.

how about up the WS : Victory Smite to what it used to be ?
