I'm a returning Vet. Starting fresh, bleh. Finally got my license and went for a ride. Wtf?
Where's the cheerful music? I got map music, not riding music. Anyone know how I can turn it on or what?
Btw, went to SE first. Did the website thing, got told to talk to GM's in game, they tossed me back, got told to check my sound... wtf? TYold them my sound was working, wanted chocobo sound, was given steps in fixing my sound that worked already. Last email... go talk to the GM's in game.
Then I finally found a the live ffxi forums.
Help meeeee. :(

Are you on PC?
If you are on PC, have POL do a file check. Any files that are missing / damaged will be restored. Hopefully it's just the Chocobo riding music that is missing.
Scanned, no problems found.

Dont know what to tell you, last I checked the music was still there.
Are you certain you don't have it turned off in settings? I assume it isn't since you hear zone music. Are you certain it's not turned off by any other means? Perhaps a relog is in order, which you have most likely done by now and know whether or not that worked. Finally, the only time I've ever heard zone music on a choco is when I'm been on one for ten minutes or whatever and the music defaults to zone music after the theme is done playing. Perhaps you walked away as you were getting a choco and came back too late to hear the music.
Sometimes searching in google does worlds of good, but it can be tricky. I sometimes find information I need about errors and the like with not so likely wording for searches. I might try slang or different terms than the obvious first choice that didn't get any helpful hits.
I looked through all the settings I could find to no avail. There wasn't one with a chocobo off/on setup. As for google. I just keep finding 2012-2013 posts asking to turn off the music.
Edit: Found the problem. Located a song editing page that listed the music for it all. The download off the website does not include the chocobo riding music.
Could someone share the long version of it so I can pop it in?

Edit2: Scratch that. Chocobo music is zilart music. Found in sound2. Since I don't have the expansion that is probably why it won't play.
