I have 2 pc's and my data cost me for every byte I use unfortunately.

I want to install FFXI on my secondary PC so my gamer friends can play FFXI with me when they come to my house. The question is, after doing the normal FFXI install on my secondary PC, if I could then simply copy all my hard files from the primary PC (that already has all updates) to the install location of FFXI on my secondary PC. Would this work or save me data usage?

I've used similar methods for installing other games but I dunno if it will work for FFXI and am hoping someone can shed some light on the matter for me.

Yes, it is possible to skip some downloading by first installing the PlayOnline viewer and FINAL FANTASY XI, then copying over up-to-date files on top of the installed files.

PlayOnline viewer will still check the files, but it shouldn't download the updated ones as they're already there. ^^

Copying the install folder after a full patch is how I backup my install for anytime I rebuild or reinstall my OS, and how I patch friends I recruit to the game. The Check FIles step still has to happen, but everything else will be skipped by copying a patched folder over a fresh install.
