This system is so confusing! Please make it more transparent like other crafts, with our skill listed under the Crafts menu like Fishing is. As I recall, there was a localization error when Synergy was first introduced that (incorrectly) showed a "Riding" skill in place of Synergy skill...

This would definitely be a welcome addition!
It wouldn't even have to be a menu item necessarily; an NPC could talk about it, for example, if that were to be less work to implement.

The skill values for chocobo digging are stored differently than other skills, therefore it will not be possible to display the skill value. It may be possible to have an NPC share this information, but we can’t promise this will be implemented.

We don't really need to have an NPC for this. A command, similar to /checkparam, could do the job just fine.
/checkprofession <me> ---> A list that shows crafting and digging skill levels shows up in chat log.
