Currently trying to catch Lord of Ulbuka, legendary fish in Cirdas Caverns.

I am at 105 fishing skill, with over +10 skill in buffs.

Using full buffs, rings, etc etc, I can only ever so barely get this fish to 0 hp.

However, this fish has a 100% line snap rate on Ebisu at my skill, giving the "You did not have enough skill to catch this fish"

I don't know if this is intentional, but I am now over 0/20 on this guy, line snapped every single time.

Do you need a certain skill level to be able to catch this fish? And if so; how much? Please oh please answer this question SE, this is incredibly frustrating for us fishers that you added a fish that is so so so much harder to catch than the other 4 required to finish Ebisu.

Edit: I figured it out, Very clever SE! Super big props to you guys on the trick you did to catching the fish.

To everyone else: I am not going to spoil how to catch Lord of Ulbuka, SE did a LOT of work on this guy, and I see why they say Ebisu+1 would be something to be proud of.

I urge everyone to think outside the box. I don't think Ill say anything else, but I'll retract my statement.

He can be caught, its possible, there's just a trick to it. Maybe SE will give you guys a clue, or if they say its ok, I'll give you all a clue.

Only one other master fisherman on my server got the rod, because he figured the clever trick out, and he taught me it while working with me.

Thank you, Zefi of Quetz, you are the best fisher in ffxi!

This is just more of the fact that I can tell SE put a HUGE amount of work into this fish, and I gotta respect SE.

Ill post the trick on other forums later maybe.

But for now, out of respect for SEs work, I won't spoil it. This is on par with absolute virtue level trickiness. Very out of the box gimmick.

So you can see, how if someone figured out the trick to absolute virtue 1-2 days after he was released, it might be a bit disrespectful to SEs hard work to spoil the trick to everyone just 2 days after release?
