Cannot enter game after maintenance

So the servers went down earlier due to emergency maintenance, which is all fine.

I tried logging back in a little later, the game found a new patch and installed it.
Apparently the servers were still down so i just logged out of the viewer again and waited.

Now my brother called me up asking if i wanted to play, as he was online now. So i go and try to log in, only to find the game telling me it´s in maintenance and i cannot log in. Even though the server status pages shows everything as up, and my brother is actually playing the game right now.

Is it a bug, or are there any ways i can get past this? I did a check on the FFXI files, and nothing came up.

I am having a similar issue. Judging by those posting, this doesn't seem to be limited to a single/few server(s), but all over. I haven't logged in since earlier this morning so aside from the patch I have no idea what's wrong.

I also can not log in. I am on Odin and they say te server is up but not according to POL. Anyone out there going to let us know what's going on here?????

Best way to get there attention is to flood http://support.na.square-enix.com/index.php with new tickets. I will be creating a new ticket every 10 minutes.

Multiple people from EU are signed on in my linkshell and were able to sign on 10 min before maintenance ended. Most of the rest of the linkshell, and bunch of others I am reading on BG Wiki forum are not able to sign on either.

I do not believe this is the case, as I was not logged in during the time or for a few hours beforehand.

No, I logged off well before maintenance began. I waited an extra 30min past the supposed end of maintenance, logged in, got the update and then the message Game not available for play during maintenance. So I figure it went over (no surprise) and headed over to the Squenix to check, they say ALL SERVERS are UP. Still can't log in though....

The people that are logged in can log in and out no problem. I have a friend on game Lewyo who logged his mule out to test this, and he logged his mule back in with no problems. He is in the UK.

Yeah I was suppose to run event today but there goes that out the window...my 6 ls members that managed to get on have a free day on game!

tried logging in 15 min after maintenance ended, got update
but keep getting message

hope SE will let us know something soon...

It's not based on account region or free or paying because I have a JP account on free trial and a paid for NA account. both can't login.

It's not region of account, it's region of game client. EU client can log in, with accounts from any region.

Some people also say it has to do with SE altering the Behemoth event, but that seems a bit farfetched to me.

Pretty sure the EU client is locked out aswell. Seeing as my client is EU, and i get the same error.

I am having the same problem. After maintenance I had the small update patch, ran that and screen went back to "Unable to play during maintenance". I tried logging off and trying again but same thing. Odin server (as well as all other servers) are showing status as "UP" on the official SE site. Strange.

Nope totally was not pc related. 6 ls members were on game at normal end time of maint and they were on pc.

Didn't know someone manually setting a True/False setting could be a Server Program Error.
