The Geomancer job quest includes an Indi-Poison plate in its rewards, and it won't complete if you already possess that plate (say, from being overeager and buying it from a merchant before turning the quest in to gain the job). The error message is vague and doesn't make it clear that the plate must be sold or dropped before the quest can complete.

1. Get to final turn-in step for Geomancer job quest, Dances With Luopans.
2. Buy an Indi-Poison plate from nearby merchant, Ishvad.
3. Store Indi-Poison in Mog Case (it's where I had it, anyway).
4. Try to turn in quest. Error: Can't accept item, please sort inventory and try again.
Resolution:
1. Remove Indi-Poison plate from case, sell to merchant to remove from inventory.
2. Turn quest in again. Success.
