Simple: Allow gear that enhances Dual Wield to grant the trait.

As far as I know, Dual Wield is the only job trait that is not automatically granted from equipment with "Enhances 'job trait'" in its description. (Keep in mind I'm talking about job traits here, not job abilities. I know that equipping an item that enhances a job ability does not grant access to that ability, nor do I think it should)

This would give Dual Wield to anyone who wants it (since there is equipment that enhances Dual Wield that is equipable by all jobs) without making any changes to any jobs (which could potentially alienate some jobs if they were still left out of the change).

I think this would be fair and not terribly game breaking since you would still have to make an accommodation to get the trait, that is; you would have to equip an item that may not ordinarily have the best stats for that slot.

Personally I think one should be able to wield two weapons based on one's skill with said weapon type and not based on job. But that's just me comparing things to reality.

I would think the easiest method would be to let all jobs jobs dual-wield. However, if they don't have the actual trait, there would be no reduction in weapon speed.

If we let all jobs dual wield, there is not point in playing jobs that innately get it low enough to be used as subjobs.

While we're at it, why don't we just let everyone cast spells? Or summon Avatars?

If you want a game where all the classes are all the same and interchangeable, go play WoW.

I think you mean FFXII :P (Tho I think FFX would technically count if you tried hard.)
But I agree, there's no reason to give everybody access to everything, that's why we have jobs (plus most players already have everything opened and at 99 anyway), and not a large grid of unlockable blocks that eventually lets everyone do everything.

If you want dual wield, play the jobs with native access to it, or blu who can unlock it.

Maybe original FFXII, but International Zodiac Job System fixed that, with 12 grids, forcing you to pick one the first time you open the grid for a character.

I'd prefer if they did something useful. Like allow DW to break the 80% delay reduction cap by 2% or something.
