Posting a thread for a 3rd time after being pushed by a SGM to do so.
I'm upset that I had to farm and trade x250 marrows to the moogle NPC for my Trial 3641 for Gjallarhorn and after doing so, I DID NOT receive the "Afterglow" text on my Horn.
so I request to have the "Afterglow" TEXT added.
PS: This may also be the case as well for the Relic shield "Aegis"

If you had checked the moogle NPC before hand you would have already known that it would not say "Afterglow" when upgrading. That being said, I do agree that you should get "Afterglow" stated on your weapon/instrument/shield for completing the quest.
The reason why your Horn does not say Afterglow, is because you don't have an Afterglow. Afterglow refers not to the Glow, but the AoE buff granted to the party upon use.

The reason why Horn and Harp don't say afterglow is because there is no buff for party to receive. SE might have felt that give the party a buff every time you gave them a buff was redundant.
But hey at least you finished your Horn right?

Thats why I would like to have the afterglow written on my horn, since it is a rare achievement that took time+effort to finish.

I think you completely ignored my post, and the link I posted.
Afterglow is an a Buff that the party receives when someone uses the Relic, Mythic, or Empyrean Weapon skills. Or in case you have the Shields, Shield Bash. Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla do not have have Afterglow because you would be giving the party a buff everytime you Buff.
Afterglow is not the Visual Effect your character gets. Afterglow refers to the Buff the party gets.
Edit So I don't have to make response when you ignore this post:
When you complete your Weapon you gain a not so Hidden Effect of your character Glowing, Like a Pulse weapon or Body from VW, Legion, Etc.
most but not all of the weapons have Afterglow, that refers not the the Glow of your character but buff gained by the party. Break that up After Glow means an after effect given by the glow.
Not the glow itself.
You put in all those Marrow for a glow effect on your character, If you wanted something that said Afterglow for you Bard, get a relic dagger.

And you are ignoring his, it's not the glow he's after.
It is the fact that after putting that many marrows into it, the weapon doesn't even mention it on its stats or description.
There litterally is nothing to show for it.

He does have something to show for it, He glows yellow. He wants the Buff effect gained by the other weapons.

You're either trolling at this point, or blind as a bat.
so I request to have the "Afterglow" TEXT added.
This is litterally what he asks. He wants his trophy.
He wants random strangers that check him to see that he put 250 marrows into his bloody horn.
Nothing more.

Afterglow isn't the trophy, Glowing is.
Afterglow is the Buff the party gets when you use your weapon, its not the Glow. He's asking for the Horn to say it has an effect it doesn't give. its like asking for a Weapon to say Impact when it doesn't let you cast it. He traded all those Marrows so his character could glow. If he had done his research or knew anything about Afterglow weapons he would have known that Horn and Harp don't get Afterglow, just the glow if his character Didn't glow he would have a real complaint. but he's asking for something the horn doesn't and will never give Afterglow.

While I'm all for some sort of visual sign besides an offhand yellow glow (especially with no text, it just looks weird when you examine someone and go wtf where is that glow coming from), I'd also like to note the reason that your thread got moved to "insufficient information" twice is because you didn't use their template. They're weird about not even reading it if it's not in the proper template.
But yeah, it would be cool if they changed the names of the Afterglow weapons or something to signify regardless of the Afterglow buff; make it like Gjallarhorn II or something to say "hey, this guy went a step beyond what was necessary for the same of fully finishing this item". (...And this just put me in mind of FF9, dangit Excalibur II). Or simply put Afterglow down as something like Aftermath; "Afterglow (Aura): Increases Acc/R.Acc" "Afterglow (Aura): Increases Atk/R.Atk" etc. And then just slap Afterglow on Gjallarhorn despite it not having an Afterglow buff. Some way of recognition would be nice.

It would be great if they did this, I'm not trying to downplay what you did, it takes a lot of work to finish a weapon but there is a difference between Afterglow and the Visual Effect gained. Your asking for something the item just doesn't give.

I know, I have 9 afterglow's. Just a shame that that the text for Horn isn't one of them.

I wonder, if you have the glow effect from the carnwenhan in addition to the ghorn, does one glow effect take precedence over the other, or do they mix the colors? If they mix the colors is it through light or pigment mixing rules? Inquiring minds want to know.

The glow on the carn takes effect only. Even tried it with the AG Koga and AG Yoichi combined, but the Koga glow takes primary.
It seems the main weapon takes the primary glow.

It would be great if they just added an ability that relic horn holders can use, that would trigger a real afterglow. Or...just make the afterglow on the horn constant with a small AOE buff at all times, not game breaking but functional.

It's based on RME category. Mythic > Emp > Relic, iirc.
