New Player Issue

My friend wants to try the game out before having to buy the entire collection.

The site's terms seem to imply that 14-day trial codes are still an option. The site is still there, and it says free trial players can't play in Unity. Unity is only 5 months old, so I'm sure the free trials must still be a thing (Unless they're talking about codes that haven't been redeemed yet).

Any word on any of this?

The free trial hasn't been restocked in at least 3 years. SE just has a bad habit of not taking down web sites they don't maintain anymore, especially when it's an inactive section of an active site. There are no free trials anymore, and the limit on them is very strict in light of the December 2013 changes.
