JSE cape failed to augment

I recently acquired a few JSE capes through lair reives and later learned you can augment these capes. After obtaining some Refractive Crystals with Accolade points, I traded 1 cape and 1 Refractive Crystal to Detrovio at the Inventors Coalition. He showed me the cape with augments and asked if I wanted to proceed w/ an additional payment of 400 Bayld; I said yes, and ended up with the same beginning cape without augments, 1 less Refractive Crystal, and 400 less Bayld.

Did I do something wrong? Why did he show me a cape with augments and give me back a cape without augments, while still using up my Refractive Crystal?

He shows you your current cape and the potential cape you're getting. You have to make sure you pick the right one.

All augments go on a second page of text now. If there is a triangle in the lower right hand corner of the item box, hitting the - key on the 10 key pad will pull up the second page. Just some FYI.

I'm aware of the second page which is scrolled. My Pitre dastanas currently has this and shows "Enhances "Fine-Tuning" effect" upon hitting - on the keypad. This isn't showing up on the cape, nor is there an 'aug' symbol. I also put the cape on to see if it was giving some of the attribute bonuses it was supposed to have received, but my attributes stay the same.
