Trial Weapon Latent wont break

Hi,

I'm getting a lil frustrated as I'm trying to complete my Kodachi of Trials quest. I'm a VERY patient person but as I'm counting upwards past 700 WS points and the latent hasn't broken yet, I suspect either I'm doing something wrong or something is broken (besides my latent effect).

Setup:
iLvl117 NIN with trial weapon in off-hand
Using Ayame trust to open with Gekko and I close with Blade: Ten for darkness skillchain. So that should be 5 pts right there each time, correct? Mobs are between lvl 102-109 in various areas (Boyahda, Morimar Flats). Please help me out.

you can't do any of the (weapon name) of Trials quests by having it in offhand. It must be in mainhand. The magian trials are different and do allow this, but the level 71 weapon WS trials do not.

Oh wow really??? Damn, all this time I thought it was ok in off-hand. Thanks Protey, I'll give it another 300 pt shot after maintenance.
