Just wondering if there are any plans to further update RME weapons. The new skirmish stuff seems to be edging a lot of them out of usefulness. The items required to build RME weapons seem to be the main form of gil generation for a lot of players and at the moment, building one seems like a really risky endeavor.
Do the devs have any plans to update them? or are RME weapons being fazed out?
It is pretty upsetting. I remember I was just about finished with my Mandau when the one hand update came out making the dex on Izhiikoh blow the relic dagger away. Now I'm close to finishing my mythic dagger, and depending on how much dex or base damage Ipetum can get, it might make Vajra obsolete.

They only grudgingly did the ilev 119 upgrade and dragged their feet on it for over a year so I doubt they're going to go any further or if they do it will be only a grudging concession. The original plan *was* to phase them out and the only reason they didn't was because people got out the pitchforks and burning torches.

R/E were already largely phased out except of course the unique ones like shields/instruments (though in Daurdabla even that was phased out unless you 99d it) and relic gun/bow. Mythics are still largely relevant except the ones that have sucked since forever like xbow and I think nirvana isn't tops anymore

The way it'll probably be in the future is that RME will be the best weapon some of the time and merely a good option at others, depending on what events SE releases.
Right now I would expect more and more competitive weapons to be released up until ilvl is inevitably increased. At that point, there will probably be weapons that are clearly better than 119 RMEs. Then sometime after that, SE will introduce a way to upgrade RMEs to whatever the current ilvl is and they will be the best for awhile. And so on.

when se finaly gave in and bumped rem wweapons to 119 they did say that any further ilvl increase will see a increase for rem weapons too but I doubt there will be one till the ilvl bump

I'm sure they'll eventually give rem a boost but first they have to make them obsolete for a bit so there's something else for you to grind for in the interim. >.>;;;

They probably wont get an update until an ilvl increase, after which they will be good for a while then everything else will catch up and exceed them again.

I think they are referring to the DMG augs, which from most spreadsheets I've looked at still lose considerably to AM3 up on mythics, but some do win outside of being able to effectively maintain AM3, but some weapons were already doing that before the patch.

Well, it looks like there's also the ability to get Save TP+300 on 1H weapons. That would give you 400 Save TP if you used the weapon with Ionis in Adoulin, which is better than an offhand Atoyac at least. It's still no AM3 mythic, and comparing it to Vajra is silly.

Whelp, I doubt that the Save TP+300 report on JP wiki is true. I just used a Duskslit +2 on Ipetam and got Save TP+80. Typically +2 stones give something like 80-100% of the maximum for the range, so I'd bet the maximum for Save TP on a 1H weapon is 100.

I used to look upon R/E/M as a starting point to log in, log in get daily's out the way and hope something comes along to do after.
With them being so far behind my motivation to even log in has all but gone, not interested making gil to waste it on augments
that will no doubt be wiped in a month or two's time when the +1's come out, nor on R/E/M's when they are inferior in most situations.
Nor farming cap points solo for hours on unwanted jobs just so said jobs may come close to the dps of thief/monk/etc (dont make us work to even remotely balance the jobs)

Little off topic, but I'm curious how the SA/TA bonus of Varja works. I can't honestly say I know a lot of people with one.

It's a separate +30% damage boost to the entire SA or TA'd hit (including WSC if that is the first hit of a WS). They do not stack (+30% is the max).

The development team will be looking into upgrading R/M/E gear once they have implemented item level 120+. With that said, please understand that we have no concrete details to share in regards to when this (R/M/E upgrades & Item Level 120+) will be happening; just know that there are plans in the works!
Awesome. It's nice to know it works that way. If only the SA/TA job points worked like it too. Anyway so long as Ipetam can't get like a +65 dmg aug it won't beat Vajra in SA/TA situations.

Would be nice if SA/TA in general just worked like that :). Though would be kind of OP but then again at the same time it feels weird to be gearing dex over agi on TA ws <.<
