View Full Version : Certificate error in email link from SE

I got an email about the grand re-opening of the SE online store and revamping of the SE Members reward program. The problem is the link to the store in the email is an https:// link but their security certificate isn't (yet?) valid for the store.na.square-enix.com domain. Firefox thus blocks the site and provides the error:

store.na.square-enix.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names: exclusive.na.square-enix.com, exclusives.na.square-enix.com
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

It may also be that the link shouldn't have been an https: link but I think it's more likely they didn't get their certs updated intime.

I only posted here because I don't really know who to give it to, and was hoping the community team could pass it along so it can get fixed.

Greetings again, Alhanelem!

After speaking with the team here, they believe the issue may be caused by using an outdated version of Firefox, and recommend updating it. They have also made adjustments to try to prevent this error from occurring as often on older versions of Firefox. I hope this helps fix the issue!

Although I checked and made sure that I was in fact up to date, the good news is that the links worked correctly on trying today. Perhaps the certs simply became valid the next day or something, I"m not sure, but I am now free to romp the virtual aisles of awesome Final Fantasy merchandise. :D
