Sending Tells from Chatlog

Selecting "Tell" will display the following icon in the log.

What is this icon's purpose? Maybe I'm overlooking it, but not seeing what it does.

I haven't logged in to try it, but it seems like an indicator/reminder for chat lines you've replied to.
