is it just me or is the drop rate for savory shank even worse than it usually is? i have seen that the drop rate for savory shank from behemoth is ~10%. ive used almost 30 pops and havent seen one drop yet. i mean, its supposed to be a very rare drop, being the pop for the nm that drops defending ring, but geez, this is rediculous. took me about 15-16 pops to get the last one. thats one shank drop in 45ish pops. thoughts?

It's the same as it every was. You're having a bad streak. For a couple of campaigns now I've found having the TH Kupower up seems to help more than one would think it would, but I've done two savories in almost 60 pops before, alas.

With TH12, I typically get a savory every 5 pops or so. Maybe less. In 32 kills of KB, I probably did about 100 regular behemoths (burning through kindred seals, not buying them). The drop rate isn't so terrible, it's the D.Ring that's the hard part. But it's worth it!

out of the almost 30 tries, most were with th12, 11 at the least.

The devs can change the drop rate any time they want and there is nothing to stop them doing so nor anyway to prove they have since RNG. They see that it's one of the main things people get with log-in points and they see people buy extra mules to get more.

It's not rocket science is it?

The devs can change the drop rate any time they wantYes they could, but that would be incredibly dishonest. SE has done some shitty things in the past, but I don't think they would do something like that just to maybe get another $1/mo out of people.

i only brought the subject up because in the past i would get a savory shank to drop with prolly a 1-5 ratio, and that was with no th gear, just job traits and maybe 1 or 2 th levels. but that was over a year ago. now days, it takes an act of congress to get one to drop. i think the developers made an already low drop rate much worse due to the fact that pops were so accessible. just my opinion. and if they did, they didnt have to go so far. even as frustrating as the drop rate has been in the past, it just seems so much worse now. and there are a lot of ppl who would agree.

The main thing people buy extra characters to spend login points on is a thing that is trapped on that other character? WTF?

You make it sound like it's hard to find a 2nd party to help you transfer shanks across.

It's not hard. It's just more effort than it's worth. I mean, full login points can get you 4 shanks. You can only hold 1 at a time. So you have to enlist help 4 separate times per character per login campaign. And Pixela imagines this is the most popular option? It's not like SE wants to encourage this. They flat out denied a request to make the things mailable.

im now standing at 0/33 just trying to get one savory shank. i kinda havent messed with it because the drop rate is so $0.50 hooker sucky. between screwed up drop rates, dropping server population numbers, lottery augs, and bots, i have officially about had it with this games. thanks for screwing the game up and refusing to fix it SE. waste of 13 bux a month at this rate. still hoping they will do something about it tho.

People shouldn't care about defending ring that much; it's not THAT good anymore. You can farm up some 6/6 dark rings and lose like 4% pdt/mdt compared to defending ring. There's also a lot of other options for pdt/mdt rings. If you're actually building a pdt/mdt set, then you likely have more than enough options to cap it out anyways, and the defending ring shouldn't be the crucial final piece. In fact, it will probably just push over the cap.

I don't know why you want it so badly.

I think it's just dependent on what gear you have. But I know in my ideal setup for pld PDT I think I sit at roughly 51% in my PDT set and includes a D ring.? I think it's more of the D ring opens other options in your gear slots. For example instead of rocking double dark rings, D ring with Patricious ring is a better option.

That all being said, I know people do have the dark rings you talk about, but I also know of people who have spent much time never rolling those on dark rings. Might as well just put the same amount of time and effort into D ring lol.

6/6 Dark Rings are such a crapshoot. Besides, Dring is a trophy item in addition to still being useful. It has a special quality that goes beyond its stats.

Basically this. There is only 1 ring!

I AM FREE! FREE! MY BROTHER HAS HIS D-RING (I ALREADY HAD MINE) WE ARE FREE FROM SHANK TYRANNY!

FWIW, this campaign I think we popped about 27 beastlies, and got about four savories. TH was up for about 2/3 of them.

So so so SOOOOO HAPPY TO BE DONE.

Savory Shank drop rate is the same it ever was.
It's more gentle for someone, less for others.
Atm I'm at 1/46, which is probably a worse record than many others experienced here, but it's still too small of a sample to be able to get to any conclusion.

Given the amount of Defending Rings you see around, you can clearly see how appearently the drop rate is still the same and it's just people like me who've been a bit unlucky.
We just have to persevere and eventually the tide will change ;)

I haven't called out SE on anything and I'm currently on an 0/44 streak on Savory Shanks (after going 1/37 and not getting a D. Ring), all of them with at least Treasure Hunter 10. You think your luck is bad? pfft.....

Also, another example of my absolutely HORRIBLE luck in this game. You ever hear of the guy that was trying to get his Ebisu Fishing Rod and it took him 2,642 Gugrusaurus to finally get his Saber Shoot? That was me.

Trust me, you don't have it nearly as bad.

Wow 0/44! Same as me, then I got one Savory on my 45th.
I gotta say around 25 of those kills have been with TH lower than 7 though. (3-4 TH)
The rest are all 7+, usually 11
