It's the talk of the day today. This error that has everyone in rage mode. I saw on another thread someone started the thread off about talking about the problem and the next post was a moderator talking about thread in the wrong spot.


So the purpose of this thread (on behalf of all the angry players out there who can't play) is to see if a moderator will post and either explain what's going on, give some details or something. I mean, what's the point of this official forum site if it gets us no where.

My story: I woke up this morning, saw I was disconnected from the game. I go in like normal to reconnect. I get to the last "play" screen and it gives me content error. I go to reactivate content ID, get error. I go to view content ID, get error. I go to obtain new content ID, error. I can't go in membership info to change billing info or anything. I see that there is registration maintnence going on. I look in some forums, see that tons of other people are having this problem. I go online to playonline.com to try and do a support chat. Takes all my info but since it's Saturday morning, I have to wait until Monday morning for a reply.

I have not changed billing info anytime recently. I purchased all three abyssea packs on Jan 7th, so not a problem there. I only have 2 content IDs - main and mule. I paid for March's month of service. I tried waiting a few hours, maybe maintnence wasn't done yet. It has now been 9 hours since I woke up and still getting the same error. I've tried resetting POL, resetting my PC, even stupid things like restarting my wireless router. Nothing.


So I want to know from a moderator what exactly is going on?

Just keep posting in the wrong forums, they are clearly active cause they are moving and locking threads. Make them work till we get an answer.

MOderator post isnt gonna happen till early jp time so ur gonna be waitin all night for one of them to post there sleeping atm but if u leave ur name number n a breif message they might get back to u when its convient for them... but puttin us out of came for a day is incovient for us.... so not fair

I vote for Square Enix to have 24 hour 7 day week customer service anyone agree?

It will get fixed when the Jp prime time comes & they can not play from this issue. Then we will see results!

Can we please have our Final Fantasy back? Honestly the free month is not a service to your customers if in the process your free month includes no access. We all didn't read the fine print. I too am screwed my husband and I pay on the same card; he is on, I am not. WTF Is the problem that you want only one of us to have a free month? Come on...

I am getting the same problem. The description below provides a clear step by step description of what is happening. Hopefully a moderator will weigh in. Make sure everyone opens technical support cases with PlayOnline also.

I usually play FFXI all weekend, every weekend, although in the past I have played a lot more during the week also. And I just played FFXI last night. However, all of a sudden I cannot play due to this problem.

When I logged into my Play Online/FFXI Account this evening to play FFXI, I received an error message stating “PlayOnline services currently cannot be accessed because the selected PlayOnline Account has already been closed, or because service fees have not been paid. By reactivating your PlayOnline account, you will be able to access PlayOnline Services again. Reactivate PlayOnline Account? (LM-08)”.

When I click the “Reactivate Button”, I am taken to a Playonline logon screen where I enter my Playonline ID and Password and then I click the “Log In” button.

Immediately after I click the “Log In” button, I get “Error UCS-5024. Invalid process. Please exit the current application”.
At that point, I am unable to do anything more, except log off.

If I try and log in via the PlayOnline membership information portion of the square-enix website at https://secure.square-enix.com/cisweb/app, I get an error that says “PlayOnline services currently cannot be accessed because the selected PlayOnline account has already been closed, or because service fees have not been paid. By reactivating your PlayOnline account, you will be able to access PlayOnline services again. For more information, please log in to the PlayOnline Viewer. (LM-8)”.

Hopefully a moderator will weigh in on this issue and provide some kind of time line to getting this fixed.

I am getting the exact same messages/errors that Seitzer is getting. I was extremely mad this morning when it wouldn't let me log on, but I guess the good news is that I am not alone in this issue...

Dear SE,

I understand you are probably short staffed etc.. but this kinda of issue should have never happened in the first place and I sincerely hope you take actions to avoid this kind of thing in the future. FFXIV was a flop, sure you have put to much into getting it where it is to completely stop developing it. However, stop placing all of your staff and resources into that game and start taking care of these other issues or you will only lose more of your player base to other games.

Its on the pol site too, they made it official, there looking into it. Maybe it was the massive flood of complaints. we'll never know.

The steps listed at http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/polnews/news20583.shtml did NOT work for me.

When I click the “Reactivate Button”, I am taken to a Playonline logon screen where it says “Confirm Membership: Please enter your PlayOnline ID and PlayOnline Password to confirm membership information”, and there is no option to navigate anywhere else except to enter the user id and password.

So, I enter my Playonline ID and Password and then I click the “Log In” button.

Immediately after I click the “Log In” button, I get “Error UCS-5024. Invalid process. Please exit the current application”.

At that point, I am unable to do anything more, except log off.

This is still NOT fixed.
