View Full Version : Error UCS-5024 (why can't i reactivate?!?!?!)

ok, im extremely mad. i work a lot and look forward to my days off to play...and i cant today?!?!?!? i was just playing it late last night and woke up to a message saying that i didnt pay. 1st of all, i thought they were paying this month due to the servers being down due to the unfortunate disasters in japan? also, i didnt change my credit card info, nor is it lacking funds or anything like that. i log in and then it gives me the option to 'Reactivate' or 'Logout' i obviously choose reactivate. it takes me to a brownish screen with 2 boxes to fill out. Playonline ID and Password. when i fill those out, the Error UCS-5024 screen pops up and says:
Invalid process. Please exit the current application.
i next choose 'Done' (the only option) and it brings me back to the login screens where i type member passwords and security token stuff, and then this process loops.
WTF?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? i just wanted to enjoy a relaxing day off, playing my game. grrr. to make matters worse, i cant even call SE because it's the weekend!! :mad:
WHY DOES IT SAY ITS CANCELLED/SUSPENDED DUE TO UNPAID FEES?!?!? I HAVE THE MONEY AND THEEEEEY SAID THEY WERE GONNA PAY IT THIS MONTH!!! did they screw up while 'waving' this month's fee?? trying to say i didnt pay??? im extremely mad at this game and company.....

1: You cant reactivate yet because the POL Info servers are down (Read the maint forum)
2: You ONLY get April free if you paid for March, if you reactivated or added characters in the middle of march you pay for those IN April + the April fee's for them there self.

So if you brought a new char / expansion / reactivated in March you probably didnt have money in the account

none of those things apply to me (i haven't reactivated or purchased anything for my account in months) and i have $2000+ in the account it comes from regardless.

your relply is half right-
the reason you can't reactivate account now is because of server maintenance.
However i was charged and i did not make any changes on account last month and paid - so no free month for me - why?

BTW it is par the course for SE to have server maintenace on same time of billing cycle.

that maintance ended at 3 am pst it is over there are no maintances going on atm and i too still can not activate

I am having the same problem. Where is SE on the weekends when people are playing..We need support 24/7. I'm paying to not be able to play. Not a happy camper here.

Hello, I have problem too...

I'm getting LM-21 error when i log in, then when im going to pay (after putting card number, security number etc) I'm getting error UCS-60517 which means that security code is wrong. BUT its correct, i even phoned to my bank and everything is OK. Anyone have same problem? OR is there anything i can do? :/

I am posting my experience on this thread, in hopes that if enough people post, we can get someone to do something about this this weekend, instead of having to wait until Monday.

I attempted to login to PlayOnline at around 4:25 AM PDT, thinking registration maintenance was over, as there was no announcement saying otherwise. I received an (LM-21) error message, indicating that my credit card had been returned as invalid. I imagine this is on account of SE attempting to charge $0.00 to a card. Some networks return success, and allow the transaction to take place, while other networks do not allow a $0 charge. Anyway, seeing the option to "pay" the bill, I selected it. I am then taken to a screen where I enter my PlayOnline ID and password, and after doing so receive a message stating that I have now paid the bill. Since my balance was zero, I imagine this was simple enough. I then attempt to login again, and since I updated this while the registration server was down (without my knowledge), there is no record of the reactivation on the registration server. I therefore receive an (LM-08) error message, telling me to reactivate my account. Upon selecting reactivate, I am again presented with a screen asking for my PlayOnline ID and password. I provide this information, and receive the UCS-5024 "Invalid Process." I imagine this is due to me attempting to reactivate an account that according to the POL server is activated, but according to the registration server is not.

Unless I can somehow get some support, my weekend is shot. Particularly bad timing on things going wrong.

I can't even get into my section to even edit my billing info... it immediately says UCS-5024 invalid process. If they are doing this stuff on the weekend they really need to have some kind of support.

Yeah, I came up UCS-5024 as well. Came here to find out if anyone else happened upon it. Guess I wass right but now I also see there really isn't anything I can do about it. Was hoping to break a weapon today but I will just have to wait it seems

you guys arent the only one i know this much i for one am not happy bout this i get kick from ff for 2 weeks which wasnt there fault, and then i get kicked last night and lose content id and gettin USC-5024 this is wrong

Just chiming in with the same problem.

I got the reactivate error, though mine was because my CC was compromised so the bank is sending me a new one.
So I went in to reactivate, it let me go through the entire process of adding the new card, using my D3 secure password, and everything finished. I submitted it, it told me to logout and log back in.
When I logged back in I got the same USC-5024 Error everyone else is getting after entering my POL ID and Password.

Went to the live chat, and of course it's down because of the weekend. Lovely.

Ok, This f'n blows. Everyone seems to be having the same problems. Apparently we're not gonna be able to log in until they have fixed their sever problems. With everything else going on there, like having to run on a limited energy supply. This problem may take longer to fix then us players are gonna like. So if they do get it fixed soon... fine. If not then I believe they, once again, owe us a lil payback for the lack of playing time.

According to all their sites all maintenance has been completed. It has been for a while now. They should have just left it alone till May or when they had the support staff ready for it.

i go to reactivate id get error i then go back to pol main page to service & support and get error there. This is not the week to do this SE if you know what i mean

my husbend can go into the service & support area just fine.

Having the same issue with my husband account right now.

Mine I was able to get fixed some how and thankfully. Mine had been closed due to unpaid fees or SE just didn't bill it, so I logged on to my Xbox360 and put the cc info back in and got my account reopened and my content id's back and was able to log in.

I have the exact same problem. Both my wife and daughters character's are on the same card and processed fine, but my main gets bumped. We have made no changes to characters/accounts last month, and there is over $2000 on the card I use. I love that these things always happen on the weekend... can't contact anyone and likely no one that can fix the issue is looking at these forums. The downtime from last month was almost enough to make me quit... this might just be the final nail in the coffin. I love the game, but piss poor customer service and billing issues are things that should NEVER be an issue for a game like this.

My husband is having the same problem, but I can log on with no trouble. He tries to log in to see what's wrong with the CC information (never had a problem before) but it blocks him every time.

I used my Xbox 360 to resubmit the payment information which is the same credit I've used every other time I've paid for fee in FFXI. Don't know if I just got lucky or Xbox 360 was just the key to getting my account active again and playable.

I've still yet to fix my husband account though and I've tried that on 360 and PC, still with the same error trying to get his content id back.

well i jus read on POL, that the maintance on the billin stuff last night was a phase one and phase 2 and at the en dof it, said during phase 1/phase 2 time period they will be unavailable does that mean cant access during the time in between what/

It has happened to two of my freinds last night and me as well. SE messed something up last night during the maintence. It is not the fact the error has happened on purpose. They must have do something. I got kicked off my main. Got on my mules and then got kicked off again. I'm at my freinds house and he was able to keep playing. He called a GM and they just sent him a message. I'm pretty sure SE won't take care of it until Monday. Let just hope they give us something for this or at least gove us some payment for it.

Nah. If you log into your POL account on the web, you can see that the Content IDs were canceled, but are still tied to your POL account. Once they fix the UCS-5204 error, it'll be a simple matter to reactivate them.

I'm getting this too. My card didn't expire, and I've been using the card/renewed card since NA release. I guess the free month messed some stuff up. I guess we need to watch to make sure that they don't charge for April because of this.

I am having the same issue. I know that there is things that happen but seriously there needs to be a tech center open on the weekend. I work 50 hours a week and am a full time student. I enjoy looking for to my weekends and relaxing on ffxi. This is a load of crap!

So...I too went to log in today only to find that I also had my ID's deactivated. I too have account pay off of the same card as my husband. He is playing currently and I can't. Now to make matters worse. My playonline password that I can use to log into my membership info on the actualy POL site will not let me log in on the POL screen in the game! Anybody else having this issue?

I am extremely peeved!!!

Has anyone tried to go to the playonline site and check their membership activities through that. I just checked mine and it seems like SE canceled and reactivated my content ID's today (4/2/2011). A friend of mine with the same issue that has been described here checked his membership activities on the site and they had not reactivated his IDs. I don't know if this information will help but it seems to be the root of the problem.

Just figured I would add my input. My character was logged on early this morning when I got home from work, played for a little while and went to sleep. When I got up around 9 EST I had been logged out (Lost connection to FFXI Server.) I went ahead and clicked reconnect, and it did, to POL. So I went to the top page to log back in and it stated that I had no active content IDs. So I went in to reactivate them, and got this error. I am able to shut POL down completely and log back in just fine, except that it is reading that I have no Content IDs. I have tried several times, and still getting the error. I have not been presented with any payment screens or asked to input any payment information. I have a card on file, but to my understanding, though the funds are definitely available, it was not supposed to be charged this month.

So far on my research on to what is going on my content ID like others was canceled for March 31,2011 during maintence. Those not having a problem have a reactivated status for April 1st 2011, this is located in the membership information tab on Playonline main page top right corner. (Must log in to see) My Content ID was not reactivated, and has not been touched since Jan. 15 2011. I believe the canceling/reactivating was a quick fix from having to make the system not charge us for April and it caused problems... Normally when you have an billing issue you have to wait hours after everything has been billed and closed and resubmitted before this normally would clear up so best thing is to find something to else to do.... sadly like I myself am about to do...

Wow. Really, SE? The absolute best solution you could figure out was to ignore upward of 8000 posts, and neither do or even say a single word? Do you even care about the millions of dollars in revenue you will lose when half of your NA players quit? Especially after the hit you just took from the crisis? And what about the lawsuits that can arise from charging people for a service that you no longer offer? Nothing at all, eh? Well, I guess we will all just have to accept that you guys are planning on running your company into the ground, and get together with our attorneys and figure out how much you owe us. Thanks for doing this after I was finally convinced to end my 2 year break from the game. Other than today (my day off) I am not going to be able to have any longer length of time to level or complete lengthy endgame quests for awhile. Needless to say, I am rather upset and outraged that a company the size of yours is unable to deal with even the most minor customer complaints, let alone hundreds of broken contracts.

Not a single customer support employee, in your entire firm, has 30 seconds to even attempt to save you some face by at least acknowledging the existance of the people who pay your salary? (And do not get anything in return, clearly.)

I logged on fine with my brother's account, I'm not sure mine happens to be not working. I called my credit card company, nothing amiss with them. A little over 800 people currently on Titan. I'm going to try to log in and reactivate or whatever it wants me to do here in about 15 minutes when the Phase 2 of maint is done.

Nice, "April is free" as my account is deactivated right now for a lack of funds on my payment information. There are funds on my card, it's the same card I have reserved just to pay for FFXI and it's never comprimised, and now I'll be paying for April when I activate my account via the same method you use to double charge your customers. Way to still get your money SE. Well, I shouldn't really say that either because you fail hard at even making POL work correctly "durhur" to you I say! Ya know, I feel for your people but when ya do stupid crap like this it makes me really not give a shit about you.

I guess on the upside I'll get my paper done a few days before its due... hopefully things will be straightened out by tonight but without customer support, or really any word from SE, who knows? How many people over the years have had issues that just happen to fall outside of SE's service hours? I'll tell you, too many damn people for how good of a game this is. If I've been pissed when I die to NMs or waiting for NMs to spawn for countless hours, it's nothing compared to how frustrating it is not to be able to log into the game itself when you've consistently kept with payments, let alone been given a "free month" and not be able to log in. ;) Guess I'll check back in a few hours. Until then...

I guess on the upside I'll get my paper done a few days before its due... hopefully things will be straightened out by tonight but without customer support, or really any word from SE, who knows? How many people over the years have had issues that just happen to fall outside of SE's service hours? I'll tell you, too many damn people for how good of a game this is. If I've been pissed when I die to NMs or waiting for NMs to spawn for countless hours, it's nothing compared to how frustrating it is not to be able to log into the game itself when you've consistently kept with payments, let alone been given a "free month" and not be able to log in. ;) Guess I'll check back in a few hours. Until then...

I have to say I am getting same error (UCS-5024) , but past the point of mad. It is so ridiculous we always have to just deal when these things happen and no support to fix it as it happens. My boyfriend on other hand is getting the unpaid message and we have plenty of funds to cover the billing we aren't suppose to have for the month of April.

It is happening to me UCS-5024. I cannot log in or reactivate. My wife's account which has the exact same credit card information is perfectly fine. She is able to log in and play. This is so unfair!

I am getting the same problem. The description below provides a clear step by step description of what is happening. Hopefully a moderator will weigh in. Make sure everyone opens technical support cases with PlayOnline also.

I usually play FFXI all weekend, every weekend, although in the past I have played a lot more during the week also. And I just played FFXI last night. However, all of a sudden I cannot play due to this problem.

When I logged into my Play Online/FFXI Account this evening to play FFXI, I received an error message stating “PlayOnline services currently cannot be accessed because the selected PlayOnline Account has already been closed, or because service fees have not been paid. By reactivating your PlayOnline account, you will be able to access PlayOnline Services again. Reactivate PlayOnline Account? (LM-08)”.

When I click the “Reactivate Button”, I am taken to a Playonline logon screen where I enter my Playonline ID and Password and then I click the “Log In” button.

Immediately after I click the “Log In” button, I get “Error UCS-5024. Invalid process. Please exit the current application”.
At that point, I am unable to do anything more, except log off.

If I try and log in via the PlayOnline membership information portion of the square-enix website at https://secure.square-enix.com/cisweb/app, I get an error that says “PlayOnline services currently cannot be accessed because the selected PlayOnline account has already been closed, or because service fees have not been paid. By reactivating your PlayOnline account, you will be able to access PlayOnline services again. For more information, please log in to the PlayOnline Viewer. (LM-8)”.

Hopefully a moderator will weigh in on this issue and provide some kind of time line to getting this fixed.

Been kinda reading all day about this issue, same thing was happening to my husband and I but I go into POL now to see if there was any changes and it says my password is not correct...I can log into Friendslist Plus on the playonline website, can go into my SE account...but for some reason when I go into POL it won't let me log in.... wonder if its connected.

The steps did NOT work for me.

Demetraki, do you use a security token? Some people are saying the problem seems to be affecting those people who have security tokens. Some people are saying that folks who do not have security tokens are getting in. But people who use security tokens have the problem.

I am curious if there is any truth to the specific nature of the problem impacting a set of people who use the security token. Is everyone who still gets UCS-5024 using a security token? is anyone getting the error and not using a security token?

The temp fix did not correct anything for me, still the same scenario, log into playonline >> reactivate acount >> enter playonline ID & password >> Error UCS-5024 and kicked back to playonline login screen. Thank you for keeping us updated on any progress. I just wanted to make sure SE still knows the problem is not corrected for everyone.

Hugs all! Ramuh here, which may collapse without me, lol. I too got deactivated and UCS-5024 still won't let me play. Husabnd and I are 2 accts on same pmt method, using pc's, although we have ffxi on anything that moves. He is fine and gets 1 month free, my account is deactivated and it's been 4 days now. Yes, i'm upset, but I understand they are going thru tons of problems. I think they need to shut down the over protective pmt system and reboot, as it kicked mostly 2nd accts char's, and yes i use a security tag, so i'm still down. Please if ya'll hear any solution, post it clearly, i'll be watching between real life afk's :)
