Square Enix you really need to fix the sad excuse that your support is. They are highly unprofessional by stopping communication when a problem still exists.

Furthermore the information listed on the website is false. You are a multi million if not billion dollar company and it is detestable how customers are treated.

Ever since FFXI started customer support has been hated by just about everyone who contacted to receive support.

According to the support website the following is stated:

I am trying to correct the region that I am currently in. Chat support is not helping me fix the problem I have. They constantly say that they cannot do something.

If they really cannot do something then the information on the website REALLY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. It is false information and as we have bought this game. Paid money for this game. The ball falls to the courts of Square Enix to actually give support to customers.

This is unacceptable. No reputable company acts in this manner. Your customer support is quite frankly one of the worst customer supports I have ever dealt with.

Agreed this company has the very worst customer service i have even delt with. I still can't add any more crysta to my account because of these 401 errors and all you get is the run around, my friends account got hacked and banned, they won't deal with him at all saying they can't find any evidence of a hack and we both know who hacked his account just terrible terrible customer service all around.

I'm honestly surprised so many people have stuck around with this game because of the customer service i came back last week and already i'm getting 401 errors when trying to add crysta so i guess i'll be gone again soon.

I know just the other day I was giving the run around and rudely disconnected before I could respond to the last thing they said. Honestly the only thing keeping ffxi alive is the people who have played forever. And most will probably give up on SE after ffxi is done

The knowledge base has quite a bit of either outdated or otherwise inaccurate information, which I actually am not surprised about seeing how little they put effort in other website related things. I've reported some of them to them and while they seemed to appreciate it, I'm not sure if they fixed them.

Then there are the typographical errors in articles such as those describing the recent campaigns. Simple, minor things like that do not bode well. In fact, they bodes ill! While perhaps not huge issues, they give off a don't care-vibe.

I have never dared to try a chat-support, even less actually calling them, and knowing the stories, I hope I never will have to. The few times I've contacted them via e-mail, they've been okay (note: EU region).

That said, they could not (or would not) help me with the issues I described to them.

Speaking of the stories of others, it is mind boggling how they do not put a lot of care into not being an inconvenience to people. Perhaps that's partly why they're always so apologetic about it... the inconvenience part I mean, heh.

I jest, but really, it should be quite an important thing, and for it to have been like this for all this time... I do wonder if the higher-ups know about it.

I am amazed no one ever asked a question like this during those fan fests. The times where people could speak directly to the devs should have reported the crappy service being provided to the beautiful game they have created.

Square Enix Support being so crappy is like the question of why is there evil in the world. If Square Enix makes such good games, then why does their support suck so much?????

People actually want to give their money to Square Enix despite the horrible customer service yet they cannot do so because of these stupid 401 errors that should have been resolved 3 hours after the first person had the issue many many years ago. It is almost as if Customer Support never filed their reports to the devs. The support team pretty much ignore fatal flaws and problems in the entire realm of the game.

But dangit...even though I cannot stand their customer support I still want to pay SE money so I can enjoy FFXI. The company is blessed to have people who like their games despite crap like this.

To the forum support admins who translate posts and questions to the Devs, you really should tell the devs how much the playerbase hates customer support. They are riddled with nothing but problems. The website also needs to be updated. It is unacceptable for a multi billion dollar corporation to have such a bad reputation like this among its most loyal customers. I mean, do they realize there are people who have been paying 13 dollars every month for the past 12 years? These are voices that need to be heard, listened to and supported.
