Steps: This is in response to the quests concerning the Dancer Artifact Armor. I had noticed that the first quest and resulting cut scenes from Laila called "The Unfinished Waltz" too some time to load in but I was able to complete the quest for the item called the War Hoop.

Yesterday, I started the quest called "Road to Divadom" from Laila. I did everything that I was suppose to do. Went and got the Yagudo Glue from the Pipers outside the entrance to Giddeus in West Sarutabaruta (S) by using my Bluemage. Then I switched jobs to Dance for the next part with going to the Glowing Pebbles at (I-5) in Jugner Forest (S) and click them for a cutscene.

I had no problems with the scenes at the Glowing Pebbles.

So I made my way back to Upper Jeuno, still as a Dancer, to speak with Laila and to get my reward of the Dancer's Tights.

During the course of the cut scene, specifically where she has the flashback to her being a child in her mothers dance troupe in Bastok, that is where the cut scene freezes and locks up the system. It happens just after the dancing Taru with the Elvaan, Galka and Chocobo. It is the same point each time.

I tried this 6 times on my Playstation 3 during the course of the last 2 days. Thinking that this might be a issue with my playstation, I proceeded to update my playstation 2 which took 5 hours to do.

I logged back into the game and went to Laila. I tried this 4 times again and still the same issue occured at the same spot in the cut scene.

I reported this twice during the course of the day, both in an e-mail and in-game. A friend had suggested that I try here. I did see a posting from MercenaryX, where he is experiencing the same problem with said quest path.

Any information would be helpful.

I can understand how greatly disruptive this cutscene freeze has caused you, so I have made sure to submit your information to the development team for a thorough investigation. I recommend consulting this thread or www.PlayOnline.com for any news regarding this investigation. Thanks again for your report!

We have received the results from Development and they have determined that this is a technical issue. If you are still experiencing this issue, please contact our information center at http://support.na.square-enix.com > FINAL FANTASY XI > Contact. I resubmitted this said issue to the information center. I am still having this issue with said NPC and its broken cut scene. I have also tried switching to my original PS2 and an Xbox and the problem still remains the same. It is a problem on the games end.

more likely a problem on the ps2's end. Things like this usually only happen on the ps2.

I had numerous similar problems (PS3) while doing many WotG and past nation (Windy in particular) missions. Never got any SE solutions to this problem. Had to resort to getting a friend use his guest login to enter as me on his PC (was on phone with him to give him security token code) and spam-enter me thru the CS. Terrible support for the PS2/3 platform is now something I have grown to expect in all aspect of this game (I freeze 50% of the time I go thru a Cavernous Maw or Runic Portal), its sad but true.

I'm having the same problem hope they fix this soon.I will try to do it from my pc once I do all the update I miss on it.

Frigian,

We can offer a few suggestions if you are experiencing any of the following:
• Have difficulty connecting to or staying connected to the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI
• Crash, receive a black screen error, or get stuck at the downloading data screen upon clicking your character handle or character select button
• See your the lag meter turn red
• Encounter increased lag or connection problems near crowed areas
• Have trouble accessing specific zone(s)
• Have trouble logging in with specific character(s)
• Receive any of these errors: 3113, 3100, 4001, 1160

Suggestions:
1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services.
2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC: TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535. Also, check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software/hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.
3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem.

Please take note of the following:
• Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XI.
• Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
• If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP.

OK I have spent 3 days trying to get this Yagudo Glue... With various jobs, BLU/NIN, THF/DNC, NIN/DNC, BLU/THF... I have been as high as TH8 on a single mob and still no glue. Is there some issue with the drop rate of this item? There must be because I fail to see HOW IN THE WORLD it would not drop over the space of no less that 19-24 playing hours over various locations that should drop this item... West Sarutabaruta (S) (Piper); Meriphataud Mtns. (S) (Chanter); Castle Oztroja (S) (Chanter & Conductor). This is beginning to get STUPID and I'm getting really tired of chasing this AF for my DNC. I'd like to have this AF but if this continues I will forego DNC AFv1. SE my frustration level with this is at an ALL TIME high.:mad:
