Monster Name: CoP mission quest "Dawn"
Steps:
Regarding this particular issue of any...Whenever I get to the Purgonorgo Isle area close to H-11 I experience extreme lag and no one is even around, I experience this same occurrence in towns usually by the Synergy stations and other random areas too many to count. A friend with a PS2 also has been experiencing this lag while trying to do the recent events quests in windurst sarutabaruta. In this particular instance I can barely move and when I trigger the cut scene it runs for a couple minutes and crashes. I've tried multiple times with crashes in different spots of the cut scene.
I then formatted the hard drive and reinstalled the game. Things were slightly better and the cut scene got a little further but ultimately crashed and had to force shut down PS2, the subsequent times after that were all worse. I've tried removing all my gear and linkshells prior to cut scene with no better results. I've cleared all inventory from mog wardrobe and mog case. It seems the PS2 memory maybe getting corrupted. I've checked hard drive for errors and also done ffxi file checks all coming back fine.

Update, tried this on different PS2 with same results, this one crashed even before mine did. Same choppyness/extreme lag in and around the area too.

if this happens a lot save your self time buy the xboxs 360 one.
i am only saying this for 1 fact my ps2 was going on me one time and i think it was the thing you plug the internet in to so you may be getting lag from a poor connection on that end.
