So i'll get stright to the point. I'd like to see we the players have a choice between fights being capped like the old days and uncapped for those who can't recieve assistance from the lack of players in the community these days. Just a simple request. There no need to even debate this. It's literally that simple. Look not everyone enjoys burning through levels as fast as possible. Not everyone enjoys soloing everything unless it's some lvl 119 related event of sort.
You know I'm tired of this dick measuring contest that is 11 these days. With getting the best of the best gear and leveling as fast as possible and for what? 80% of the time we stand around in some major city talking about how bored we are and you know what if that's your preference fine so be it, but it's hard for me to try to reenjoy this game with friends when we blow through all these important CoP fights or ToAU fights and Mission fights because we're to strong for the mobs/nms. It's to difficult to try to stay the same level when we have conflicted schedules and like the old JRPG lovers we all were for old Final Fantasy games from the day. We want a challenge!
It can literally be fixed with giving us a choice to be capped or uncapped. Hell maybe even sprinkle in a little reward for doing it capped. Like a low lvl piece of armor since the Auction House is a bigger joke than my last relationship and trust me Sqaure that's saying something. You go out of your way Square to put out these monthly updates to make the game more friendly and you know what that's great. I personally want to thank you, but you're also loosing sight of some of the qualities that made this game great...
So to conclude this like I said. It affects noone in a bad way. You wanna blow through everything well go on ahead. Good for you brotha. Do it uncapped, but for a few of us that miss the old magic that 11 brought to the table. We would like to be able to choose capped please. Thank you if you read this.

From my own personal experience, I find people who want this stuff tend to not even do it, let alone to consistently find people who want to do that stuff. It actually does effect people in a bad way. The reward wouldn't even justify it. You and your buddies might find it amazing to do it a couple times, but once you realize it was for nothing, and you could just blow through the content with easy as a higher lvl, you will be back to not using the lvl cap system you want implemented. At least with there being an option. So to sum it up, I don't disagree with you, I just feel given the option, people would rather not choose it. I would rather them spend time just giving us expansion locked or progression servers that would reinforce lvl caps and people could either choose to play on those or the normal ones.

With all do respect man I am seriously failing to see how this could be a bad thing in anyway, shape, or form. The very fact bro that I requested it to be a choice rules out all areas it could fail. It comes down to preferance. You want to fight uncapped please be my guest. If you don't and maybe play with a group of real life friends like me then maybe letting us choose to play capped will let us relive the old days when we first did say CoP. That's why I said it's debate proof. Both sides win. Regaurdless of what you claim to see and like I said bro with all do respect! Meaning i'm not attempting to offend you in anyways. It's a choice that pleases everyone. You can't lose.

The point I was getting at is it is a waste of time. I'm sure the development team is busy with far better things. Let us assume the code already exists due to there already being level caps. They still have to re-implement it into the current code that exists, then make sure it works properly. I'm assuming given the current population and the direction they say they want to go, they are pretty limited on resources for someone to waste their time on something like this. Like I explained before, even people who think something like this is a "good" idea tend to not even do what they suggested because there is a choice. Does it sound fun in my head to go back and kill something like sky gods at lvl 75 with a bunch of people? You bet, until I remember that isn't where the current game is at and I could just steam roll it all by myself in ilvl 119 gear. Hence why I also point out that it would almost be better to just invest time into a server that is specifically catered to this kind of stuff, removing any of the choice at all, requiring people to deal with the crap that comes with level caps no matter what. There is other benefits, but that is a different subject for a different thread/time.

This should be in place from the moment they removed the cap. I can't imagine its fun for anyone interested in lore, to just one shot these NMs :x

Well, how about (and hear me out) instead of doing a level cap for the missions, they somehow make the missions and content relevant to people who are ilvl 119. Couldn't they do something like implement an ilvl 119 fight somehow that gives rewards? You could *breeze* through the regular fight (heck, you could solo whatever mission), but you would absolutely NEED an alliance or full party to even have a small chance at beating the ilvl version. Heck... they could even make easier, repeatable versions for people who are new and want some practice.
For the level capped stuff, there are a bunch of options. Why not do a bc-type-nm (capped)? I think the ENMs might still be capped (not the storyline missions, but the other ones). Ballista, etc... While it's true that the charm of FFXI was you needing to work together to beat some missions, and one person being one second out of sync would destroy hours of work, or someone DCing wrecking the win, SE is trying to bring back that charm [without the some of the drawbacks (easier warping to the battlefields to take out hours of running time, better equipment for all roles like the new bard flute, etc...)] through the higher level battlefields.
Also, there are (and might be more options) to make the regular missions more difficult. ditch the ilvl gear so that you are only lvl 99. Have a friend (or yourself with a lvl 75 job, with merit mode on of course so you don't gain any xp) join you in the mission and sync (can you sync inside battlefields?) to them (you could even have the person be a lower level if you want more difficulty).
The only thing this wouldn't address is the NMs you find out in the field to progress with missions (unless you level sync). It would be difficult to make all the mission NMs force your level down.
I've seen so many people get stonewalled from completing certain necessary battlefields (like the LB10 one, the nation missions back in the glory days, heck... I'm stuck on advanced teamwork 3 because no one wants to help a taru out) because everyone's past it, or it's too time-consuming, etc. In short, I think that with the addition of the new, higher-level battlefields, SE is going in the right direction :).

80% of the time we stand around in some major city talking about how bored we are
Wat, this is highly subjective, my friends and I are busier than we have ever been, there have never been so many endgame events I could participate in whenever I want and actually recieve rewards, I don't love all of the events, but there is currently:
Skirmish, Delve, WoE2, Incursion, WKR (Not quite whenever), I'm a huge fan of "endgame on demand".
In the past, we had to wait for timers to participate in the endgame of our choice, Dynamis/Limbus/Einherjar/Nyzul/WotG Tags, in the middle there we had to wait for stones, Aby and VW, only the latest content has just allowed to begin whenever we want, WoE/Legion/Adoulin Endgame, and there's no artificial timesink of "waiting around for X to spawn, a tag to come up, etc".
If you're bored with the game, or don't like the content, well, that's another issue, but it's not for lack of options, I'm busy as heck, and my friends ingame are as well, I miss being able to diddle around in jeuno and toy with things like monstrosity, but I love being able to do content whenever it's convienient for me.
