im about 10 years behind when it comes to content for this game..the only quests i have done is choco licence and the quests to unlock other classes and maybe a handful of other quests.

i want the most efficient way to start doing all of the quests. am i better off getting to rank 10 in my home nation to get rid of that requirement for quests that need a certain rank?

since no quest markers how does one go about making sure youve completed all the quests? i read about lead in quests opening up other quests, cant go to every single npc every single time i complete a quest to see if it opened another someplace else.

someone in the LS mentioned wiki and start in a city...is this how it will have to be done?

is there an official quest/mission number for how many there really are and if so source?

is there a website one could suggest to look at quests? it really be nice if i could do them in order.

ff11wiki had a list of quests completed in order if you were to look at it it game..

also do people do book burn parties anymore? if so where and per what level? im looking for lvl 70-99.

dont know anything about abyssa yet so thats kind of out for leveling.

Quests are pretty broad and some are extremely lengthy. Making 1 mythic or 1 relic is each a quest, and those take months of pretty hardcore play for each. That's like 30 or 40 quests. So doing all of them is a bit much.

There are also Missions, which are separate and are basically the game's storyline. Increasing your rank is done through missions. Missions tend to be a lot more story heavy and have some long cutscenes, although there are some quests (such as the 5 Serpent Generals quests) that have some long cutscenes.

I think they just added some NPC that tells you what quests are available but I haven't looked into that.

Record of Eminence are also under the Quest menu, but most of those are more like tasks. Things like "Kill 200 XP yielding enemies" or "Mine 5 times in Mount Zhayolm". There are 557 of these objectives. They're pretty straightforward and there's even some Tutorial objectives that will get you started.

For the specifics on what to do, external wikis are your best bet. You could probably figure out what to do through in game knowledge and deductive reasoning, but that'll take much much much longer.

I don't think people do book parties much any more. If you're looking for level 70 - 99 you could go to Bostaneiux Oubliette or Labyrinth of Onzozo. I like Onzozo better but you're more likely to find a party in Oubliette. Set the following objectives for additional XP:

Spoils: Wind Crystal
Spoils: Earth Crystal
Spoils: Fire Crystal
Spoils: Water Crystal
Vanquish Multiple Enemies I
Deal 500+ Damage
Conflict: Labyrinth of Onzozo

Quests for most areas are based off on a fame level. There are npcs that will tell you how "famous" you are from who the heck are you to well there probably is not a single soul in this town who doesn't know who you are. There is a way in game to see which quests you have completed under the quest menu. This will also be where you can check to see which ones you have active currently.

Fame from Sandy effects Sandy, Selbina, Rabao, and Jeuno. Bastok fame effects its self, Selbina, and Jeuno. Windrust fame effects its self, Kazham, Mhaura, and Jeuno. For instance if you are rank 4 fame in Windrust you will be so in Kazham. The only place that has its own separate fame is Norg as it is based off Tenshodo fame which even though can be raised by quests done in Windrust and Bastok the two quests do not raise fame for those cities but your fame in Norg.

There is no list of all quests in game so yes a wiki will help you out more there.
