Demographics of FFXI players today.

Hello! I just wanted to find out what the average age of FFXI players are today. Also how long has everyone been playing and where are you from? Are you male or female? I bought the original game and got the pre-order mouse pad in 2003. I also bought the game for PS2 as soon as it came out. I am a 30 year old male and from Michigan. I would guess that most people that play the game are like me and older, or the younger people are the children of people who have played the game for a long time. Thanks everybody for your input!!!

lol, I'm the LS grandma at 62, from MA and have been playing since March 2007...my son got me started on this game. The funny thing is I picked a server just because Hades sounded like a good place to be, lol, turns out it was my son's server.

I'm old enough to have spent time in AoL chat rooms and what A/S/L means :P. Anyway - Male/34/IL, lol.. and i'm NOT interested in cyber. This was actually my very first mmo back in 2004 (i think it was), back when i didn't even own a computer and had internet just for xbox/ps2 gaming. Have played a few dozen mmos since (everything from the casual themeparks and socials to hardcore sandboxes) but always messed with the idea of coming back. I finally got back like a month or so ago and loving every minute of it :)

32 - Male - Started playing the day of NA release with fellow crewmembers of the submarine I was stationed on at the time, As far as where I live ... that is debatable I have been in ever state at some point, most the territories, and I have been over seas a lot. I currently stash my stuff near Seattle at a friends, while working a contract in South East Alaska. :-3

31, Female, started playing awhile before it was released on Playstation in north america... around Dec. 2003/Jan 2004? Didn't own a computer or a credit card, played on my downstairs roomate's computer... got up to like 22 BLM... but then he moved and that was it for my first character. It was sad... that said, I really suffered socially during that time, can't believe how much I played considering how much progress I made. Did very poorly in college that semester. I remember when the NA console players started and they didn't have keyboards... us folks who had been around a bit longer were aghast...

Played again in 2006 or so, again lost that char... So happy to have had this char for so long!

I'm a 33 year old male residing in New York. I began playing in 2004 when I lived in Japan. One of my students at the time recommended the game and I started playing on his server.

This was my first MMO and the only other one I've played is XIV. I've had a few months here and there where I haven't logged in much, but I've never quit.

It's nice to see a game so diverse, it's just a shame that the EU populace has died out somewhat.

Female, about to hit the big 3-0 in a couple of weeks. I've been playing since 2007, 4 years alot, then after on an off with 2 children and a business to run free time is precious. Its always nice to come back to ffxi though.
