Just sayin' for the record so that you are at least aware, SE. Thanks and I'll go back to not caring like everyone else because we gave up on a new (note: SERIOUS) census last year or two ago. Still woulda been nice to know certain updated figures, though.
I for one loved the effort they put into making it funny.

I was surprised to see things like total RME, Crafting, Player Deaths by Monster (which I thoroughly enjoyed seeing), and Top Auction Items stats gone. Considering Delve and Skirmish are the new battle modes, I'd have loved to have seen statistics related to them in the Census. Completed runs over time, failed runs over time, distribution of jobs in those runs over time, etc. I did enjoy the style, for what it's worth, but there could have been more meat there.

It's not terrible, but I wish they kept all of the old info. Eliminating half of the info it used to have leaves it feeling empty, butchered, almost pointless by compare. I'm thankful they did it, but I'm not happy they removed so much.

I liked the light hearten-ness it had. I greatly disliked the lack of info presented in it though.
Some useful data that woulda been interesting:
Number of active 99 characters that have cleared 1+ Delve area, 3+ Delve area, and all Delve areas
Number of Verdigris Stones +2 used and number of Wailing Stones +2 used
Total number of pieces of Reforged AF/Relic 109/119 created, as well as a break down of which jobs had the most pieces reforged
Total number of Ergon Weapons created
Numbers for 119 RMEs
Which high tier mission BCs (excluding AAs for this one) have been completed the most, which BCs have killed the most adventurers, and if each Beitetsu, Riftborn Boulder, and Pluton weighed 1 lb, how many tons of them we have accumulated
A fun one, if each Colonization and Lair Reive defeated was represented by a Taru-Taru, how many times would the string of them wrap around the world

Did not like the new census. They basically tried to copy what every other game is doing nowadays with their infographics, but it just wasn't the same. There are too many pointless stats (total monsters in game? really?) and none of it was really "funny."
Most of the stats were pointless or irrelevant; nothing interesting. I much preferred the older census. They could've done the old one and still made it light hearted, but instead they just removed all the good information.
The only RME I would even care to see is total number of Afterglow RME and by what weapon they are.

Yeah, I have to echo this, there would be some interesting numbers that I would have liked to see.
RME being one of them, monsters killed and I guess a look at job distribution as it applies to certain content (Not even sure how they got job distribution, numbers at 99?). They used to be a lot more informative, it's kind of a shame that this years was so barren.
I have to agree that this census was pretty disappointing, as well. I mean, racial distribution? Male-Female and job ratios? Seriously? This is something I'd expect from the 1st or 2nd census, not the 12th.

Now this stuff would be nice to see. Really odd to see no info about the current content completion from the latest expansion. Maybe the numbers were rather low and they didn't want to show them.

Thanks for the feedback.
I’d also like to apologize for the delay in releasing the census.
In regards to largely changing the format of the census from previous years, instead of having you peruse through multiple pages of data, we wanted to make it easier to understand all of the data through the use of images as much as possible.
By placing a heavy emphasis on the design, we aimed to reach more players who previously may not have had much of an interest in census data, and based on the feedback we have been receiving thus far we will continue to look into content for future census.
So with that said, please continue to provide your feedback and I will do my best to relay this information to Matsui!

But if a future census is a year away and this one won't have any additional information added what's the point? I don't so much care about next year's census, I want to know about this census, what RMEs are made? How many are 119? How many Afterglows exist? How many people have bothered to do the SoA missions thus far? So on...

So with that said, please continue to provide your feedback and I will do my best to relay this information to Matsui!That's fine, just as long as you are aware. See we've gotten to the point where this thread probably wouldn't even exist for another couple weeks or longer if I hadn't made it. This ain't 2008 anymore, that's for sure. But truth be told, and as Mr. Matsui apparently knows, the census isn't overly valued by us except for certain pieces of information that are curious, such as the things Demonjustin listed, and not...well, what this years census had in it. Some of that data I technically learned through moogle in game for just myself :x I want to know things like in regards to RME population. How many now? And more importantly to myself, was I right when I said not everyone has them, it just comes off that way because of that one particular part of the playerbase such as myself that will and did farm multiple RMEs? Or was I wrong and farming an empyrean was that easy for everyone(in other words I want to know not only how many RME exist, but how many per player). Are relics so common now? Are mythics still a pain in the ass? have they even surpassed 1k yet? Stuff like that.
The census was informational don't get me wrong. It's just that it feels alittle odd that the best stuff was left off so we could know... wait for it... how many entries were in the fan art contests. Let's not forget related videos, either. That was very important information to know I feel a lot better knowing it. I feel like a better person for knowing it. It makes me feel like stopping what I'm doing to meditate and be one with the universe.

Instead of just clicking like on other posts that I agree with, i'm going to say my piece on the matter.
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of RME census data.
Even the developer comments of the previous census expressed some interest in the growth of mythic building.

A great deal of what keeps many people interested in this game (and the economy functioning) is RME related currencies and weapon building, it seems a bit crazy to exclude any data.
You could have added
-total alexandrites farmed
-bronzepieces farmed
-number of new RMEs built
etc.

Even if they posted actual active subs on each server it still wouldn't be entirely accurate. How many people have multiple characters now? Theres a guy on Asura who has 8 taru mules sitting in Port Jeuno selling skillup books.
If they came out and told you there were 2000 people on Lakshimi how many of those would be active players? You still woudn't be any the wiser.

That'd be a pretty interesting one to be honest. I take it for granted cause really, 500-1000 gil, pffft. But...I HP warp everywhere now. I bet I've easily dropped 200k+ since it's inception. Spread across active players, I'd imagine it's taken out far more than what airships and boats ever did.
