Please Implement an easier to obtain form of movement speed +12 for mage's. Whm's, Sch's etc.. can only get higher than 8% movement from Tiamat and i believe legion. Other jobs either get it on their AF or Relic or able to buy on the ah for a reasonable price, or from kirin which lets face it is not hard to farm nor kill these days solo. Having to kill a NM that only spawns once every 24 hours and is still camped regularly which makes the price of the heralds gaiters a bit rediculous is wrong, same goes for legion. If anything throw them on some reforged artifact/relic or even the reforged empy when it comes out. Either way some form of easier to obtain movement +12 or more would be appreciated. Thanks!

Personally, I hate movement speed gear and think we should just move 12% faster than we do currently without making mobs move faster too. Do away with the need to carry another piece of gear around with us everywhere we go just so we can move a little bit faster...

For sch, you can at least use desert boots. You are stuck using sandstorm, but it is an option.

Sure desert boots work but its annoying to have to recast sandstorm anytime your on the move rather than just a quick gear swap and go.

8% is from Tatsumaki Sitagoromo legs which come from A shantoto's Ascension. You can solo this. 12% is from Tiamat.

I'd like to see some new 119 boots with movement speed tacked on (Like how RNG got, though theirs was only 12% when 18% exists). Many of the current movement speed options are kind of ugly and could use an update.

GEO got one with ther AF feet, i was surprised none of the AF reforges for the mages sported +12% movement speed, would have been the perfect opportunity. maybe they'll add it to empy reforge.

Not a whole lot of difference between 8% and 12% but there are times when you can definetly tell like when you have someone on /follow or running long distances you tend to fall behind or get stuck on corners etc... being stuck at 8% because you can't afford 20 mil or do legion is unfair to mage jobs when most other jobs have some form of easier to obtain. Hell give kirin another drop for movement mage feet 12% and i'd be happy having to farm pops and kill him.

8 vs 12 is big difference in game mechanics. given the rate of speed in which certain species of mobs move, at 75 is was the difference between able to solo and dying. rdm or blm for example and even smn. losing aggro from distance and dot/nuke soloing is something they are being mindful. especially for a job like sch.
now of course, the game has changed much since then. s.e has already mentioned possible changes to hnms like Tiamat, so we will have to see. if any changes happen i think, it will be on the availability of items like gaiters, vs giving emp 12% movement speed to jobs like smn blm sch and whm.
if anything needs changes in the movement speed department its not being able to flee from raptors.

Greetings,
When it comes to jobs that wear light armor such as thief, ninja, and ranger, they’ve been given means to make it easier to increase their movements speed as a special job perk, but we do not have plans to make this possible for all job across the board.
While there is always the possibility that we add new movement enhancing equipment in the future, at the moment we do not have any specific plans to introduce this for caster jobs.

This would be acceptable if you didn't already give GEO 12% movement speed on their AF. But Geo is not a caster right? Or how about Bard?

Mages have gear for movement speed.

and

I realize the first one was mentioned in the OP as hard to get... but I mean a lot of times /sch is the best choice for a mage... so Sandstorm+Desert Boots will work well for many a mage... its like, 2 seconds to cast the spell in question to activate them.
Still i would like to mention the SAM/NIN boots, giving movement speed to SAM easily... Crimson for RDM and many a heavy armor job... but both the SAM/NIN and Crimson were as hard to obtain as Heralds at one point in time... (much more shortly so for the SAM/NIN ones lol)
So I think the only problem with Heralds is that they haven't become easier to obtain like the other non-Light armor options have... so maybe that would be good enough, making them easier to obtain? Obviously not super easy...

Skadi's Jambeaux +1 18% speed movement is for thf/bst/rng/cor/dnc/run. I think all job should have a 12% movement speed movement gear in a form of AF 119 or relic 119 gear. If you do add new movement enhancing equipment i hope the design looks better than Skadi's Jambeaux.

Per the quest text for obtaining the sandals, by using the mats the NPC requests, you're now "running with the wind!" :P

The 12% movement speed on GEO makes a bit more sense than movement speed for other mages. Since GEO is almost BRD-like in that they have to run in and out of range to cast Geo/Indi spells, and get in range for -ara spells which center on the caster not target and use directionality, movement speed plays somewhat more of an important role(vs WHM or BLM that can cast from 21' in 95% of cases)

And don't forget the Cardinal Chant job trait which provides different bonuses like increased magic attack bonus or magic accuracy depending on the GEO's positioning relative to the target. With so many features of the job being entirely dependent on the GEO's positioning in relation to both the enemies and the fellow party members it really does make sense that they receive a movement speed + option.

what krabknuckle is too polite to say is there are all too many people on these forums (and in game) whose default setting is to whine, "oh, another job can do something I can't", yeah, that's why it's another job. When a sam can sleep an end-game mob to run clear or a nin cast chocobo mazurka, a thf cast meteor, then maybe we'll see about you being given a free movement upgrade. until then, we don't care. And yes, I do play mage jobs, I just want to be on record as NOT supporting this, like I didn't support TH for pup, or DW for beast or any of a hundred other "urgently needed fixes to broken jobs" that were just to make them like all the others. A job needs things that make them unique, otherwise there's no point in even having a jobs system. and there's REALLY no point when the solution you are asking for is already in the game!!! just make the effort to do something. maybe you'll even find a feeling of accomplishment.
