We will not see a new expansion nor an announcement for another while, the current expansion hasn't been finished yet and it really depends on if it's economically viable to even make another expansion.
I'd sooner see add-ons become a thing again.

We'll be lucky if we get another Expansion. Only hints that we might be is that there's an unused Airship station in Adoulin. Storyline won't be done until the end of this year at the earliest. When Adoulin story is finished, then we should be getting news how they'll proceed whether it's a new expansion or add ons, or just maintenance mode.

I don't understand how that equates to a hint of a new expansion. No expansion thus far has been linked to another, and reaching out for "this one thing that's unused might be used for the expansion!" doesn't really hold up when there's dozens of things just like this spread throughout the entire game. Boat docks in Norg, Adoulin, and behind the Tenshodo, many various tunnels and caves in various zones that lead towards the edge of the map like they're connecting to another zone, then there's an abrupt poorly textured wall, Ebon Panels, etc.
For what it's worth, I hope there's more expansions in the works.

Hopefully the guys over at XIV have made enough money to pay us back what they took for development and re-development of that game. =P
Because XI needs some love too. (A DX11 or at least 9 client and HD textures would be good)

Well with ilvl you'd need Adoulin gear to be able to survive the new expansion at the beginning, so linking it to Adoulin only makes sense, at least to me.

By chance, what zones might you be referring to? I'm very curious; I love conspiracy fuel like this. :)

There are certainly a lot of storyline hints at one in the currently available Adoulin missions. I'll skip the details for the sake of avoiding spoilers :)
Whether or not we get another proper full on expansion in the near future, I would definitely be happy so long as storylines continue, new zones open up occasionally, and new events get introduced (or old ones revamped).
I wouldn't be opposed to another trio of add-ons, perhaps involving the frozen continent to the north, Mithran continent to the south, and of course, the far east.

I can't see us stopping at ilvl 119. The next round of gear is going to have to come from somewhere. People are all doom and gloom about server merges and everything, but I think it's pretty clear based on the dev responses (and more importantly their actions) that SE still cares about XI. I'm actually pretty optimistic that there will be a full-blown expansion in the future.

Kamihr Drifts still has a tunnel or two blocked I believe, most SoA zones had these until new zones were added. Rala Waterways still has the far SE section blocked. Norg has the Galka standing in front of a tunnel that won't let you past. Batallia Downs and [S] has multiple tunnels that lead to nothing. Believe King Ranperre's Tomb has a number of dead end tunnels, most of the old dungeons have these, almost like they were going to lead back to a connecting zone on the outside.
I don't know specific positions, but those are the ones that come straight to mind. I swear I remember reading a repository somewhere of all the instances of dead end tunnels, but I can't find it atm.

Honestly, I'd love to see Fort K-N, Grauberg, and Vunkerl Inlet added to the present before any new non-SoA zones.

The more you increase the cap the more older content becomes largely obsolete. It's a 12 year old game with little endgame content to show for it, considering its age. Why? Because the game established itself on 75 for so long, continuing to increase the cap won't necessarily help. I hope 119 is the end, at least for a very long time.
I wish the game would stay true to its roots and continue to introduce open world content.

personally id love to see the old endgames sky sea dyna get revamped as ilvl 125 stuff if only to give us the endgame options we used to have at 75, also I cant remember were I read this but on one of the REM threads the dev team responded that the REM weapons ilvl will increase as the ilvl of the game does, so there is def something planned but whether or not there are enough people playing the game to spend the money on this is another thing entirely.
