Here is my crazy idea to bring life into the world of FFXI….

•Player’s and monster’s stats (HP, MP, STR, MND, INT, VIT, CHR, AGI, DEX, and DEF) never change on level up….lets say they are all equal to that of a current level 50 stat range. 99 even so people don’t get mad over smaller numbers then their used too.

•All monster families, in all zones, have the same stats as their brothers in other zones. A Crawler in zone A is just as strong as a Crawler in zone B, C, and D.

•Leveling up only unlocks new Job Abilities, Traits, and Equipment.

•Stat increases only come from Equipment and Food and Buffs

•Give powerful rewards to Campaign Battles, Besieged, and other older content.
o Make the rewards motivate players to do all content to get their full sets.

Instead of just doing one content to get full set of wanted gear.
• Example: Besieged could reward awesome tank Legs, Campaign could reward awesome tank Body, and awesome tank hands could be rewarded from Sky, Sea, Delve, or any other content.

The idea behind it is to shorten the gap between high-level characters and low-level characters so they can effectively play together and accomplish goals together all over the game world instead of everyone all piled in one zone cause that’s the only place worth getting gear from. (like every other MMORPG)

The world would actually feel alive and sandbox-ish

For this to work properly, a drastic redesign would have to be done to weapon’s DMG and Armor’s DEF and power of white magic and black magic to make things balanced so a level 10 can still effectively contribute to a battle with level 99s.

I know the elites will still not welcome players under level 99 for dungeon like fights, but all the open world content should make people less picky as long as they can get the rewards they want.

Random ideas for more open world content.

• Have beastmen in zones like wind, sandy, and bastok not respawn normally after being killed and you get rewarded from the guards in town for pushing back the beastmen out of the area and they respawn like once a week or something.

• Have pages in the dungeon books have group quests that after you complete the list of foes it automatically starts you on the new list of foes and after all the pages are done a random (so its not the same fight over and over) Boss spawns in the heart of the dungeon that only your current group can attack and get some rewards and high XP bonus.
*Beastmen strongholds
*Crawlers nest
*G. Citadel
*SSG
*Etc
*Could even do FoV and do open areas like Kazham jungle

• Have storyline boss fights reward all party members with a large quantity of endgame currency (think plasm) if someone in the group has never cleared the content before. Yes people will make alts to farm the currency from storyline battles, but who cares? It will cause new bodies to populate the world and create more low levels to do content with.

• Anything to promote people to team up (even with small groups like 2 and some alter egos) and go around the world and do stuff and advance.

One final CRAZY idea~

• Add job abilities and traits on all current jobs so that there is an obvious motivation to use all the jobs as sub jobs instead of just a handful of realistic choices. Doesn’t have to be a complete redesign. Maybe just one or two new abilities or traits under level 49 on all jobs to make the viable subs.

Is all this a crazy idea? Yes!

Will it require a ton of redesign? Yes!

Could it bring retired and even new players to FFXI? Maybe.
