Hide Head Gear?

My name is Grimnir I'm a Paladin from the Odin Server and firstly id just like to say how happy I am we finaly have an official forum!!

Ok on to the reason for my post!

For years I have had issues with the look of certain head gear in the game. This hits me more because I play the Bald Hume character and to be honest with you there are very few bits of headgear that realy look good on my character (all the half masks and most helms just dont look right without hair lol) But I was just wundering why we dont have a "Hide Headgear" option in FFXI? I know the game works on a head swap system for headgear so i would assume that it would be easy to impliment and also it has been recently introduced to FFXIV

So what are your Thoughts and opinions on this? And do any of you feel the same way?
And would you like to see a Hide Headgear Option implimented to the game system?

It's a great idea; I've always wanted to hide certain head gear pieces, but there obviously isn't a feature to do so.

Goodness yes. There are far too many pretty Hume and Elvaan hair styles trapped underneath THF AF3 in Vana'diel :(

I wouldn't want to "hide" my head gear ^.^
But I know what Grimnir is saying, been through this convo many times over the years.

It could possibly be made an option, even if it has to be typed. I mean if they can make a giant frog appear for a job emote, I am sure they could keep the normal head model on, while retaining the stats.

I played the Rifts Beta, they had the option to hide head gear, and I thought it was a good one.
As an addition to this topic, I'd like to see an update to bows and ribbons(Making them cuter.) and other head gear that is invisible to begin with.

I sure this could be accomplished with some simple .dat modding, however I've never played around with that myself.
