I'm not sure if this was an intended change of not. But I recently went through the Winds of the Goddess storyline again with a friend. During the Windurst quest Howl from the Heavens.
Last time I had done this quest was a couple years ago.
When Fenrir starts his massacre of the yagudo, the Final battle theme against Alexander began to play. It really added a lot of depth to the scene, and made it feel like a big turning point in the story.
However. Now when me and both my friend went to view the cutscene (me at the footprint, him from the actual mission.) All that plays during that scene is the Original FFXI song, Repression. Which has a very somber mood that doesn't seem to fit the scene at all.
I'm not sure if this was an intended change at some point, and I just skimmed over the patch note for it. Or if this is a mistake brought on by oversight at some point.
For reference, here is a recording of the cutscene made back in 2010, where the scene has Alexander's theme playing: http://youtu.be/qmOkGu5b1fc?t=6m35s
As I said, now the scene's music had been replaced with this: http://youtu.be/OJ8MYn5mUxU
Any insight into this potential issue is appreciated. The music change really destroyed the impact of this Cutscene for both me and my friend.
