Problem with quest The Rivalry

I had been working on the quest for a while before taking a break from the game. Upon my return I spoke to the npc to get my total moat carp turned in and it was just over 5k. A couple of days later I turned in 72 more moat carp and checked my total again to find it now says I have almost 700. WHERE ARE MY MOAT CARP?! I contacted a GM and was told to come here and make a post so here I am. HELP!

If your talking to one of the male Elvaan that you turn your fish into, he will tell you the total of how many he caught that day. If you want to know how many yo have turn in, you need to speak with the Female Elvaan standing behind the two. You may have talk with her a few times, but she will say "You have collected ## carps for so-and-so so far."

Thank you for your reply. I know how to check my total turned in since I have been fishing for quite some time now and its also not the first character I have worked on this quest with. I am still missing the fish I caught and turned in and am rather unhappy about it.
