So after seeing the news about Merit Point expansion. I feel the question needs to come up. Every "merit point increase" they have added as been for simple stuff. While I think being able to get more HP/MP, Attributes, and Combat Skills is great. Don't get me wrong. I really need to inquire if we will ever see expansions or increases to the Job Specific Categories of the Merit system. As the bonuses in these categories are unique. But also limit curtain classes.

Deciding how to build a characters merit point progression is important. And I can understand a slight buff may cause some jobs to be stronger as a whole by giving them more options, Some may even end up being "OP". But I feel the path the game is taking it would not be a bad idea to allow for more merit options to help ease choices, mainly for mages and give access to more spells/ablilites that may make them more useful on the battlefield.

I think a Minor increase to the maximum points for Job Categories may be a good idea to implement, and a Simple one at that.

Honestly we need to be able to just cap all of the job specific merits, but even if it were only one extra thing I'd be happy. Specifically jobs like RDM, BLM, NIN, & SMN suffer from a lack of spells due to having to pick and choose, RDM most of all however due to the fact our duration and potency is highly affected and the shorter the duration means more recasts and in return more resistance from the monster in question. This shouldn't be such an issue anymore.

Seriously. There should be no total cap on job merits. There are several jobs with really good merits that never get used just because of how good the other ones are when maxed but how crappy they are at 1/5. Especially when SE has gone out of it's way to basically make some mandatory to merit like beast affinity to make ilvl pets actually work
