Can we make the POL client UAC compliant so that we don't need to disable screen dimming because screen dimming crashes the game?

And can we run another program that changes the desktop resolution without POL crashing?

The original design was pretty horrendous and relegated everyone's PC to a PS2. Multitasking = Bad!

If it's been posted elsewhere, cool. It's posted here too now :)

I would like to be able to turn the password on for my laptop without crashing the game. It's not that I want to multitask, I just want to go to the bathroom without taking my laptop with me.

(Yes, please.)

Huh? Epic misunderstandment of the topic lol, or transparent trollery. Nobody can use UAC's screen dimming while FFXI is running..

And anyone that runs an application that changes the desktop resolution while FFXI is running will crash it.. nothing to do with specs.. Windoze.. lurn it!

It's about time this is fixed.

I would like to lock my computer when bazaaring, use UAC with the secure desktop and run another DirectX game (Windowed and/or Full-screened) without FFXI crashing with the following error:
Terminated as error occurred in FINAL FANTASY XI. An error has occurred (Error code: FFXI-9001)(-1).

FYI: The crash appears to occur when restoring the desktop back to normal. The game continues to work while the computer is locked or if you login remotely using remote desktop... but will crash as soon as you unlock locally.

(In the case of playing another game, the crash appears to occur during the exiting of that other game)
