Yes, it's just as it sounds sadly, lol.
Alter Egos use Bard Songs, Protectra, or Shellra spells, abilities such as Lehko's Inspirit
will cause the Allied Nations NPCs to attempt to target/retaliate against them. However since they are unable to attack the Alter Ego, they 'disengage' completely and then return to normal.
The only thing I can think of is to tweak the Allied Nations NPCs to have Alter Egos on their friendly list much like Player Avatars, Spirits, Beast-pets, Automatons, etc..

Maat's Mantra ability also results in the same manner on the Allied NPCs.
