Hello all,

Not sure where I should post this as this is my first time at these forums. Hopefully it is the right place and someone can help me.

So, has anyone verified that Trust NPC's do work in the Beyond Infinity Limit Break battle? I ask as I have tried twice (on Valefor server) to attempt this fight and cannot bring in Trust NPC's nor summon them once I am in the actual battlefield. I had 3 NPC's summoned and partied with me prior to entering the battlefield both times. I tried both Balga's Dais & Qu'Bia Arena but only my character can enter and npc summoning meets with a "cannot do that action here". I know that the pre-release update notes for Feb. list this as an planned implimentation, but the actual March Update release notes say:

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/40599-dev1189-New-Alter-Egos-and-Alter-Ego-Adjustments

Alter egos will be able to fight alongside adventurers in the following battlefields.
Horlais Peak
The Emissary / The Three Kingdoms
Waughroon Shrine
Journey Abroad / The Three Kingdoms
Balga's Dais
Journey Abroad / The Emissary
Qu'Bia Arena
The Ruins of Fei'Yin / Darkness Rising / The Final Seal
Throne Room
The Shadow Lord / Xarcabard, Land of Truths / The Shadow Awaits
Spire of Holla
Below the Arks / The Mothercrystals
Spire of Mea
Below the Arks / The Mothercrystals
Spire of Dem
Below the Arks / The Mothercrystals
Monarch Linn
Ancient Vows / The Savage
The Shrouded Maw
Darkness Named

There is no mention of Beyond Infinity specifically. I can verify they can be used in missions 5-1 & 5-2 (Sandy). Thank you in advance.

To my knowledge they are not allowed atm for that fight. They are slowly working on adding more fights that you can bring trusts to.

Thank you for the answer and quick response!

I thought this had been implemented since it is listed in a Feb. version update preview and stated as a fact on ffxiclopedia (I have since corrected the latter). Hopefully they will implement this soon as I'm ready to break 95 and like to do it w/o shout-begging in Jeuno for help :)

Cheers!

Hmmmm, this was pointed-out to me over at ffxiclopedia: Feb Version Update

Under battle related:
The following adjustments have been made to battlefields.

Players are now able to bring alter egos into the Beyond Infinity battlefield.
* Note that players will not be able to call forth alter egos within the battlefield itself, so have them prepared before entry.

Yep, you need to summon them before entering the battlefield.

Also, if you are in Valefor I could help with the fight as RDM if needed. I'm usually online after 8pm central.

PS > Though I still wish SE had adjusted the fight and allowed us to fight it solo Maat style instead. =/

[QUOTE=Raydeus;506358]Yep, you need to summon them before entering the battlefield.

Except this didn't work for me. I tried twice and both times my Trust NPC's disappeared after battlefield entry. Have you seen this work in Beyond Infinity? I know it does work for several Mission (5-1 & 5-2) battlefields.

I agree on the Maat fight type of scenario. This is a fight that most people don't want to revisit (thanks for the offer though). That's why I was so excited about the purported use of Trust NPC's. I could possibly do this all by myself.

I did have one other question though - How do you "use" an Olde Rarab Tail? Will a macro work?: /item "Olde Rarab Tail" <t>

Thanks!

Bah forgot about that. Might be a bug? Yes a macro will work.

Yeah I hate to say it but I believe they specifically said you can do the 95 fight but not the 75 fight so if you literally can't do either one then it's a bug. Just repost this in the in-game bugs section real proper (your name, your system, isp, all that proper information) and they should fix it....operative word being should here.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's bugged. I'm heading out-of-town today so will try that when I get back.

Thanks everyone.

All, SE acknowledges this as a bug.

Known Issues: In the quest “Beyond Infinity”, alter egos summoned before entering the battlefield will occasionally disappear.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Yeah but are they going to do anything about it?
