Now this attachment idea is a little selfish on the part of me just loving to be PUP only. It'll be unfair to SMNs but it's already a little unfair that BST's have this on their pets, and it's already been brought up before too (at least I believe it has),

Salvager:
Wind based attachment x2 or x3
Grants automaton "Treasure Hunter" +1

One wind Maneuver= +2
Two= +3
Three= +3

Capps out at +3
Unlike THF it doesn't have a chance to go higher on critical hits.

What do you think?

BST gets up to only TH1 after they got nerfed down, and no Pet: TH gear. So this would actually be unfair to any other pet job because you're managing to get up to TH3 with only two maneuvers, and atop that, you made three maneuvers pointless. Every other has to use /THF and Treasure Hunter+ gear (like the new belt). If this was going to pass (and that's a big if, I don't agree in dropping automaton effectiveness for TH that I have to spam maneuvers for), it'd prolly be that the initial effect is Gilfinder with TH+1 per maneuver or something like that, not affected by Optic Fiber.

I recommend if you're looking for a TH effect to just sub THF and use your automaton frames wisely, combined with powders/oils for sneak/invisible. Things like Role Reversal combined with 3x Light Manuever and Auto-Repair Kit II will let you keep both you and your automaton's HP up if it's on a melee frame, or you can use Repair or a Dawn Mulsim to fix up the damage. If it's on the WHM or RDM frames, it should be healing you with the Damage Gauge and Vivi-Valve attachments. PUP isn't forced into certain subjobs because it essentially has a second job in the form of its automaton; it's not quite as efficient but it almost always gets the job done. I've soloed in a number of places on this combo, including farming Salvage II. TH2 doesn't make a HUGE difference, but the difference is there.

Ah, didn't know that BST got nerfed down to TH1

Thanks for the info. It's been a while since I really looked into things, I'll have to look in to it all. Good thing I already have my THF leveled for a support.
