Alright I know this falls under "stupid noob" question but...when they put all this stuff on the gear (weaponskill, haste, etc) eventually you'll be capped and...then what? Like now for instance they put say 200+ sword skill on the swords or they put 200+ parry skill on say the shields, if your sword and parry is already capped that does nothing for you right? So if they keep going with the Ilevel stuff...won't it slowly stop...being of any...use?

The skill+ listed on Item Level weapons are different from the skills listed on other gear (SE uses 2 different calculations for the stats on the weapons verses other gear). You cannot stack iLevel skill+ on weapons as they only exist on 1 slot (main hand or ranged) and off-hand iLevel weapons do not have the skill+ added to your stats. I'm sorry I don't have the links handy to the forum posts where SE has listed that information (They've said it a few times over several posts).

The stats on the non-weapon gear can stack with each other and can reach a cap, Haste for example caps at 25% (or 26% depending on who you talk to). Some stats have a cap, some do not, your best bet to find out that information is to check the wikis and forums. SE likes to keep all this information secret so you won't find any official information on caps but there has been a lot of testing done by users over the years.

This iLevel stuff is confusing at best, fortunately SE has added the /checkparam command to give you a better idea of what is happening. With luck SE will continue to improve and expand the information provided by the /checkparam.

But if I'm not mistaken the cap for a lot of stuff is quite low so if they continue with like 125, 130 150 or even 175 won't it all just start getting ridiculous and out of hand?

That depends on your definition of 'quite low'. There is (as far as I know) no cap for skills (combat or magic), the only limiting factor is the number of pieces with skill+.

The item level is controlled by SE and they have said that iLvl119 will be the maximum for a while yet (although I wouldn't hold my breath on that). If the iLevel does increase then it will be done by SE and they will make adjustments to the game so that it will work and hopefully not be too confusing. We just have to figure it out as best we can.

The ilevel skills are added to your base skills. So for example a dagger with dagger skill+242 parrying +242, will add the skill levels to you current skill, and will exceed your natural cap.

The parrying and guard skill bonuses are displayed in your menu - you will see your parrying is around 600, whereas the player cap is around 430~ on the best jobs. The dagger skill is not displayed in your menu. The reason for this, apparently, is that it would confuse you and make you think the dagger skill 600~ applies to both of your dual wield daggers - which it doesn't, it only applies to your main hand weapon, unless you are dual wielding the same high ilvl weapons. But you can check your "attack" on the equipment grid, when you add ilvl dagger skill +242 dagger (for example) your attack goes up by a LOT, because each skill level increases your attack and accuracy, and so this attack boost shows up on the attack rating on equipment grid. But it does not show up on "combat skill" status menu, whereas parrying and guard and shield skill+ shows up in that skill menu and will be around 600~ with capped skills and a powerful ilvl 119 piece.

I'm not a stat guy, but 3000 might be possible in attack. I think my default on thf might be 600-700. Not sure what all stacks, but I image something like drk/war with last resort, warcry, berserk, chaos roll, some brd buffs, maybe toss in something from geo and I'm sure it will get up there.

Right, that said....anyone at 3000 attack or is that a myth?Without buffs? No. With buffs? Yeah, easily enough possible so far as I know. If I remember right I saw someone with a screenshot at 3000+ attack before Adoulin, sitting on DRK at PW.
