View Full Version : AoE damage can hit pets, why can't AoE healing cure pets?

Basically the title. If a mob can use an AoE that hits both players in a party and their pets, why can't a White Mage's Curaga, which heals everyone in the party, hit pets? Wouldn't it be possible to toggle something in the code to allow AoE healing magic to target pets since AoE damage/debuffs from mobs hit both players and pets?

Wouldn't it be nice for Dragoons or Puppetmasters if in a fight they didn't have to waste time using Spirit Link and Repair and could instead focus on something else like dealing damage while the White Mage is Curaga'ing after a big AoE? I think it would be a nice balance. Let pets be hit with AoE heals but not single target heals.

Allow the following spells/abilities to hit pets. I'm not going to ask for buffs at this time due to balance/complications:

Curaga I/II/III/IV
Cura I/II/III
Cure I/II/III/IV (With Accession)
Benediction
Erase(With Divine Veil/Accession)
-na spells(With Divine Veil/Accession)
Esuna
Healing Ruby I/II
Whispering Wind
Spring Water
Divine Waltz I/II
Winds of Promyvion
Exuviation (With Diffusion)
Healing Breeze
White Wind
Mending Halation

While we're at it, let pets/trusts/fellows benefit from Sambas again, make DNC somewhat less pointless.

I would like this if my phone would let me. Later.

So many likes, man. I think I brought up something to that affect in Shinron's pet thread.
It would've been great the last time I was in Delve on DRG, if the Curaga had hit the wyvern too.
And as you say, this would benefit PUP too. And BST too maybe?
I agree about the sambas also.
