I'm pretty sure everyone can relate to this on one level or another:
The Voidwalker Notorious Monster System both inside and outside of Abyssea needs to be addressed, "fixed" maybe even eliminated. Now why do I say that? Mostly because I have had terrible "luck" with upgrading and tracking down the VNMs for the last oh what has it been?? 5 years? 4 years? I'll just go with sense they set foot in the land. They should "spawn" when you rest within ~6 yalms but some how I have gotten several 5 yalm readings, and the readings don't always target the closet VNM (t1s) so I get ~20 yalms from one and all of a sudden it starts to give me reads on one that is ~150 yalms away. the upgrades are unreliable and far to random and it goes against game balance, not to mention it is horribly frustrating. Here is a great example:
While farming colorless souls for my Ochain today my friend and I went 3+ hours with out an single upgrade to our colourful abyssite (Tier 2) we would pop the T2 VNM kill and nothing yes I kept count, yes it was 3 hours and it was 11 Tier 2 VNMs spawned before we gave up on that zone and moved to another. Where we went 1/1 on the spawn & upgrade. In the time it took me to farm up 116 souls today I was able to farm up close to 50 horns for the lvl 90 stage. How does that sound like balance? esp with 1 of each the t2 & t3 per zone.
Balance for this mechanic (for the abyssea ones anyway) would put the t2 and t3 on 3 min respawn timers, and put 3 of them each per zone. Just like you have the 3 ??? for the popible NMs.
There shouldn't be a need to kill more then 2-3 of the T2 nms for an upgrade for the t3 either. That is absolutely insane when the t3s have a longer respawn time, and like to drop 1 soul more then they like to drop 2 (at least from what I have seen helping build several harps and ochains). So please SE look in to fixing the VNM sytem. *bow*
