Allow hiding of the network meter

The network meter's flashing arrow and blinking numbers are problematic for people with sensory issues. I have had to use tape or sticky note programs to hide it. I believe it would be very quick and easy to develop the option to hide it, whether by removing that UI element, replacing its graphic set with transparent pixels, or drawing a box over that section of the screen.
