March Treasure Hunter adjustment Set a limit on the effect of "Treasure Hunter" granted by equipment A cap on Treasure Hunter will be established and we will be implementing equipment with the Treasure Hunter effect in the future.

Serves you all for getting th3 taken away from DipperYuley. Now everyone will be limited to th2.

IDK if you're being butthurt, or just making a wisecrack, but firstly THF gets TH3 as a base, and this adjustment is only effect bonuses from gear, so at the very least it would be TH4+ so the idea of limited to TH2 seems not thought out.

That said, the cap will likely be 6~8 or so, depending on how powerful the new TH+ equipment will be, and also they already informed us of this adjustment a few weeks ago, its more or less to obsolete equipment like the Thief's Knife, and most of us actually like this idea, though its not the perfect solution.

Also note that even if they did cap it lower thf cap from gear they can still upgrade it several times. So even if they made all th gear do nothing thf could still get what 8? But yes them lowering th from bst pets with promises to add pet th gear for bst to compensate and then later saying they never said they would add gear was kinda messed up.

I'd guess it would probably be around what we can get now. Part of what makes it being uncapped suck now is the odds of proccing decrease dramtically as the difference between your th and what is on the mob increases. So you are basically locked into full timing all th gear or forgoing the ability to increase it. Thf knife especially makes that bad though the others were bad too until they made it so you could reforge them and even then full time is kinda meh. imo they really need to do away with that too really fix the issue and not just cap. Thf has a hard enough time being useful for anything than th proccer as is without having to gimp it's dps which dnc already completely and utterly trumps while providing support and the only source of ja haste for other players.

Yay they are gonna cripple treasure hunter..........................I hope the next thing they do is limit the amount of curing a healer can do and put a limit on the Enimity a tank can get, since SE is making moronic decisions, why not do that next. While we're at it, let's put a daily limit on the amount of things a BST can charm per day or make a 30 second time cap on how long a summon can be out or even better get rid of the ability of wearing weapons for mages. Yay, together we can make FFXI much crappier after years of improvements........

Idgits, the lot of you, the TH restriction is a way of obsoleting the Thief's Knife, which the player's have been calling for for a long time, this is an improvement as long as they don't restrict it under TH7 from gear (pretty sure they won't) there will be no reduction to treasure hunter as we know it, and moving forward we'll not have to be tied to specific gear peices and they'll stick it on more junk.

That said, if they remove stats/other things because they're adding TH to thief gear from here on out, it's a sad situation.

Most of that already exists. Curing costs mp and cast time and has recast time. Bam limits. The cap on enmity has been in place and hasn't changed for at least 8 years possibly longer. Charm has recast timers as well so limits. Smns can die and have perp costs which you have to work around to keep it out. Heck bst pets come uncharmed after awhile and jugs just go away on their own. While the emnity one is a problem the rest no one cares about. And that's what this "cap" will most likely be. You'll have the same amount you can get now but as they add more they will make it so you don't have to cripple your DD capabilites by full timing 10 peices of crap gear just for the TH

Not that it matters, RNG is the treasure hunter job now, since it's TH is better, it's damage is better, it's hate control is better, and it doesn't have to gimp itself with TH+ gear.

Adding TH to gear isn't hard they could just as easily add TH+1 to the Relic Body or Legs, they have been adding stats to +1 versions for RF such as the PLD hands that had no Shield Mastery till RF+1. They could also simply set the cap to 6 for now, and when releasing new gear occasionally bump cap to a higher level, so we can constantly leave out knives for the top notch THFs.

Yes I'm sure they will go thru the effort of implimenting this cap and then make it so that it is impossible to go over thereby making it do nothing. I'm sure there are a bunch of them in the office asking how can we use our extremely limited manpower best and somebody suggests adding a new system to the game that litterally does nothing and they run with it instead of throwing him out the window

The way I see it, SE is gonna cap TH exactly where it is currently. That way when you do come across this brand new Lv.119 Thief's Knife, no one will try and main hand it, as the TH you get from it wont boost you past what the cap is. Not that some of you wont do it anyway. I would go into more detail, but the headache i get from people believing that they are going to reduce a Thief's TH is well...

Though, If they release a new Thief's knife I can safely say I will d*ckpunch someone so hard their ability to reproduce is so broken it goes back in time and prevents their own birth. Cause there are so many better solutions than a weapon... so so many.

Well they capped it at 8. so 3 from trait, 2 from hands, 1 from feet, 1 from new belt and last 1 from TK or atma or mog kupowers. So a new TK would just replace old unless more TH items come out before then or you can get the last one from atma or kupowers

Honestly.... I'm expecting them to have the empy feet become +2TH at either 109 or 119.
That way, they can REALLY kill the Thief's Knife... because with relic hands and empy feet, that would be +4, so only 1 more TH needed from gear to reach cap...
And since that belt exists, there we go.

But if they're NOT going to do something as simple and derpingly obvious as making the empy feet have +2TH (which IMO they ALWAYS should have had in the +2 form, though I get why it's just +1.... what with no TH on the +1 empy feet.)....
