Making Burning Circle missions or items more accessable to solo attempts?

Lately I've been doing a lot of soloing because many of my LS team mates have no interest in doing capped battles at lower levels unless they can solo them which has left me in a bind to attempt to get certain items that are only available through Burning circle fights and very few other people are willing to take the time to build a team to get items too.

For example I've been after the spell Phalanx for all my characters, or Utsetsumi: Nichi, and the Horror Voulge great axe. But because the burning circle battles are capped, or many are impossible to do with one player and so I end up not even having a chance at getting an item when so many people either are unwilling to go after the item (and it never shows up in AH). The beastman seals I have just sit in my storage not being used as well as the star orb I've had for years. I'm hoping that at least making the capped burning circle fights less difficult enough to be attempted by a single player willing to take the equipment and items needed to win these capped fights and make use of the seals that are needed for these fights.

Utsusemi Ni costs 7k on your server and there are 7 on the AH. Utsusemi Ichi can be quested. Phalanx is a bit more expensive but you should be able to buy it by converting like 3k sparks to 30k gil. There are currently two in stock.

Back when Utsusemi Ni cost well over a million gil, it was actually not very hard to get people to help you do the BCNM.

Back THEN people were willing to help do BCNMs but now its very low chances. Utsetsumi ichi and warp were quested by me no problem. And as for Utsusemi Ni being cheap, um no its not. Someone jacked the price up to 70k+ and Phalanx which "was" 10k has gone up to 40k....which means I'd prefer to be able to farm it myself because I like being able to better manage my gil for much more important items (I'm a crafter btw). And certain weapons can't be farmed outside of BCNMs as well, and are not in stock except very rarely. So either make all the BCNM specific items quest or drop from ENMs outside or make BCNMs more doable solo if they must have a cap on it.

I don't mean to come off as elitist, but 70k is still pretty dirt cheap in FFXI terms, considering the average player can make 1Mil-ish by doing 2 hours of salvage or dynamis, and everyone starting from level 1 can convert sparks to gil by selling either Skillup tomes on AH or Eminence weapons to an NPC. If you earn 7k sparks (which is pretty darn fast) you can convert that to 70k gil.

You said you'd rather use your gil on more important things, I'll tell you, for the jobs that can use these spells, they're very important things. It would cost most people more effective gil in opportunity cost to go farm utsusemi or phalanx than to buy it off the AH, the time could be used more effectively, farming your own stuff doesn't save you money unless you couldn't have used that time to make more money than what you farmed.

Back when these spells cost 2Million Gil+, and it was harder for the average person to make gil, you may have at least had a point to griping... but honestly I don't think most of us would've thought it was something worth spending dev time on then.

An unfortunate price fluctuation. It will probably sink again. In either case yeah, they were extremely expensive before, and you can now still get it by expending just 7k sparks, or wait and see if the price falls again.
