I was rather hoping that the new text command you'd be giving us next week to check hidden stats would tell us what our current "real" level is with a particular gear loadout, but I see from the trailer that's not a part of what you're giving us. Will there ever be a way to know what this value is? After all, our own level was never hidden from us before...

This would probably be pretty tricky to work out without loads of bugs.
Or would it be something simple like the mean level from all of your items equipped?

It's "worked out" every time you use the /check command, they just never tell you the number they're using.

They need to just make our level based off of our weapon... -_-

My Trust NPCs are gimp since its not based off weapon and I change every other piece of gear often...

Those ARE based off your main-hand weapon...
At least that's what Matsui had said.
Also wiki: "Instead, their statistics and level are based on your character's current level and also any iLevel weapon equipped in your main hand. (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Trust)"

And as to your "real" level... can no one do simple aggregations anymore?
You have 7 slots that determine your "level" with iLvs.
Before 99 (or any slot without an iLv piece) your level is your level.
The slots are: main, sub, head, body, hands, legs, feet.
So if you have this setup: 119, x, 115, 109, 119, 109, x (x = no iLvs); then your "level" is 109.85... or basically 110.
It's really simple math... you just add up your slots... non-iLv slots = 99... and then divide that by 7.
All phones and computers have built in calculators...
But if they really wanted to add this to the check function... (though I think you might misunderstand that the new command in today's update is for DERIVED stats only....)
It wouldn't be hard.... cause it's just a simple average.

From my experiences, he was wrong, otherwise my RDM using Excalibur 119 and Eminent Dagger would not see Shantotto nuke with T5s for 1.8~2k when in Espial and about 400~500 in my level 99 Enhancing set. I do not mean just 1 nuke, I mean consistently hitting these numbers, something is determined by other gear, be it level, accuracy, I can not be sure but something surely is determined by more than simply our weapon of choice.

Well... He also lied about not using the rem tales for the relic and empyrean armor upgrades... So... My trust is shot.

Greetings :)

Thanks for the idea! Moving forward we will be expanding the /checkparam text command to include other information and the development team will definitely take the suggestion to include average item level into consideration.

You have a hell of a lot more patience then me. When avatars were 1+ years late, I've already given up on getting what SE has promised. Before everyone go well you getting one now. Yeah, 3+ years late and only 1/2 of the promised pair.

Yeah you can actually watch your npcs stats go up like gain mp and such with armor. Supposedly the main hand weapon does more than the visible armor but they both effect it

I am a SMN.
And a WHM.
And a RUN.

You don't have those as your main jobs and aren't patient.... lol

What about just basing it on your iLv at the moment you summon them, and not have trusts change levels at all afterwards?

Why should your trusts be of a higher level than you? :p

In all honesty, I find the item level average system to be stupid in the first place, so I can't exactly answer that question. But I guess if anything the best response I can think of is simply another question, why am I more powerful when I am a lower level and they are less powerful when a lower level, yet when I go higher, I get weaker and they get stronger?
