Hey everyone, I just kinda wanted to post about this because it hurts my feelings every day. I've been playing FFXI since 2005 in highschool which was introduced to me by my best friend. I loved every minute of it. We fought for hours trying to pop on the same server. Finally we ended up on sylph. At the time a very low population where nearly everyone was 75, which at the time we had no idea :p. We began our journey of unending death and trivialities that would never end, and you know what from the 24 hours of updating on awful internet to deleveling on mob after hitting 75 some point in 2008ish after ending up on asura. I even think about the guy on sylph that helped me and explained to me nearly all of the original content in the game and how much he shared with me and what it meant to me to have someone help me that much. (Bohagen to anyone that might know the name:)). I had convinced 2 other very good friends to play and made tons of friends and memories over the years. Every few months after the first couple years i would drop the game for a month or so and play wow with a very good friend that refused to play ffxi because "it was made in japan", yes he is that stupid. Sometime in early 2013 after having my account frozen for a few months to play wow I came back to find that my account was "Unusable". Now by this time my account had already been hacked once and I got it back, no real troubles and I had an extra level 1 character on my account... other than that, no damage. So i gave SE a ring or an email, I cannot remember and they said, long story short, your account is permabanned and there is no way we can allow you access to your character because "he was involved in an investigation"............ In short I pleaded, offered bank records, any proof of anything and to no avail, nothing. After having logged 200+ days and many many arduous times, even frustrating everyone I know on my beloved character with a terrible name xD, I went ahead and made another account almost immediately. I have never bought gil, never really trashed talked anyone (in fact, I was more than ecstatic to come to a game where I was one of the least informed players... very much unlike wow where having little to no experience, you were probably still the best player on your server. Today a year later I just sent another email to SE asking what 9 years of unconditional loyalty really meant to them and pleading for my character back. I have almost caught up to where I was on Spartanxi, but it doesnt even matter. That character meant a lot to me and in a way, I really hope and admin or dev sees this and knows that after 8 years and being perma banned for no reason, and another year of a whole new account where I do the same thing I always did, helping people and farming low selling drops :p, all I want is my character back.. I hope no one bashes me for posting this but.. I feel pretty wronged and maybe you have a similar story, that should really be heard so that maybe SE sees that maybe some of these investigations are nonsense and a lot of us who drive to work and back home listening to the xi ost really just love the game and would never do anything to hurt the gameplay for others... I dont know... I just felt compelled to share :), theres so much more but I think more than a large majority of the players and our community knows the feeling that I'm trying to share. A heart warming feeling that changed me and taught me a lot of things in a way. Sharing things with people in this game nicer than any people I could ever meet in person. Thanks for reading :)
