This update just... blew me away, so many great things to say, and one of the best things were right here, our melee gear!

A Dagger! You said you would do it, I had my doubts, I thought it would be weak and worthless, something I would never use, but you proved me wrong! 203 skill is awesome, not 119 level, but thats high, and 24 Accuracy with even more when under 100% TP? This feels made for RDM! :)

Melee pieces in our RF+1! I hope you make our Relic and Empyrean gear similar, with more melee pieces throughout those sets too, this gives me great hope! :o

A full, flushed out light DD set, with great stats, and a set bonus, the whole shabang, this is just awesome and unexpected. :eek:

These, are without a set, the most remarkable of them all, powerful pieces, milestones for RDM, and since they are not a part of a set they do not feel forced in some way, it feels like SE really meant for us to have some melee options! :rolleyes:



SE. I say thank you, thank you for this gear, thank you for giving RDM the ability to melee a lot better with this gear, however, I now must ask 2 questions of you.

Firstly, can we expect to see more additions to RDM that are melee focused, such as Spells like Bravery, or Job Abilities to allow us to compete with BLU, which currently still thoroughly beats RDM on the front lines?

Secondly, can we expect to see more gear like this moving forward? I am sad to say but this is literally our first update we got a pair of legs with 6% Haste on them, after years of other jobs having the same. We need more of this moving forward, and I would love to see it, so please, tell me, can we expect it, or was this a one time thing?

the af hands and boots were to expected, they follow the trend of the regular af.

the dagger i see as only so-so. that being said, it's nice to finally have a viable option for say, if the mob is weak to piercing. it's probably a solid fulltime offhander anyway, particularly if you can afford to merit dagger skill on top of sword skill.

the espial is a real pleasant surprise. it makes assembling a competent TP set WAY easier (my old set was cobbled together from all across vanadiel) and is a nice buff to CDC if you have it. not to mention that in swapping my old tp set for espial i incidentally gained like 200 evasion and 100 agility. it doesn't affect damage but it makes life so much easier.

I agree the RF was somewhat expected to have melee stats after the AF, but, to a point I somewhat didn't expect it due to the whole ordeal with Empyrean Armor, I half expected them to cut out those stats entirely and make it a focused mage set.
