Slime in monstrosity needs a revamp: he's the least special monster of all

In monstrosity, the DQX slime has no monster skills, no magic, no alternate forms, his job is WAR/WAR, he has no killer trait, he has no weaknesses, he can't do a damn thing except auto-attack and use WAR JAs that modify his auto-attacks.

A lot of people were hyped for him, and he's such a letdown. I haven't played DQ, but isn't there something the slime could have for monster skills? I'm sure there's something from Rocket Slime at the least. In fact, I bet Rocket Slime could inspire several TP moves.

If not TP moves, the slime needs to be a mage job, preferably an unusual one, like BLU to match his blue blobbiness. Or he could at least have alternate forms like She-Slime (WHM/NIN?) and Metal Slime (RUN/PLD?) with jobs other than WAR/WAR.

Slime is a special event monster, he should be something special.

who was hyped for him? I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was going to be a novelty, just like every other event reward. In your defense, the spriggan is much better, but still, it is special just because it is a monster that doesn't belong in vana'diel.

I expected it to be a simple vanity monster tbh... But i figured they'd give it at least one skill...

Then again I never played Dragon Quest, but all I know from it is that slimes are the weakest of mobs in Dragon quest. rather fitting it sucks in XI.

Well, the basic slime is. There are other forms though that are much more dangerous.

It does have high physical resistance (like XI slimes). Too bad it doesn't have the "flee" ability that the enemy DQ slimes have :p

got mine to 30, it's got some pretty nasty defense and attack at that level. Basic, yes, maybe higher levels unlock a worthwhile instinct?

not really there super cheap tho second instinct 5int, 3 fire matt and macc for 2 might not be bad for some monsters like say wamora tho, as well as rdm mobs... maybe

I get that these new monsters are mostly for novelty sake, but slime is so boring. Hit attack and go watch tv until something is dead. It needs some kind of interaction.

Spriggan on the other hand was actually kinda fun.

Chigoe is the same as slime, tho i think there is a second versions with spells of some sort. Instinct 1 of both slime and spriggan tho are only worth 1 point so at least you get to fill in that one point you might have left over now and least it has something possibly useful like haste and cure pot.
