Records of Eminence - Why can't DNC use the Dagger?

Simple question really. Been looking through all the items that have been introduced with this update while at work. The records of eminence is a great idea but the only weapon purchasable using sparks that DNC can use is the H2H for which we have 'D' skill. Why is DNC omitted from the Eminent Dagger? The only weapon it is proficient in.

MNK, WHM, BLU and RUN are omitted because they have no native Dagger Skill so I can understand that. But DNC, COR and PUP are omitted for no reason even though they have a higher skill than some of the other jobs that can equip it.

SMN, SAM and DRG have 'E' skill and can use it (but probably won't)

DNC and COR have a B+ skill in dagger (their highest skill) but can't use it.

Please tell me this was a mistake because it makes no sense.

Is it a Kris type of Dagger? I haven't seen the rewards yet but I know DNC is generally omitted from Kris line of daggers. If it's an actual Dagger then yeah, it's just SE's weird selection to try to keep DNC off of stuff :l

It's the same type as Blau Dolch.

All the weapons share their Icons/Models with the "Blau Dolch" type CoP weapons of their era, and all have the same Latent Effect/Same way to activate said effect.

They likely just borrowed that, and DNC was not on Blau... Sorry DNCs, maybe they'll update it later.

Dancer never really got to use those kinds of daggers because they were known for Jambiyas, and knives (Only exceptions are being Twash and Terpis with Auric dagger and Mantodea) all in all though, it's awfully strange, considering that the only dagger is keeping DNC off of it.

If that is truly the reason, then the obvious answer would've been to not make it that dagger type in the first place.

Seems like a huge oversight to me. Dancer gets nothing.

Can you translate please? Will they change it so DNC can use this dagger? Would be nice if they could let us know as well.

They'll be adding DNC onto the dagger. They didn't state a date.

Yeah I bought it for my DNC then saw this. At least I can still use it for my THF, but honestly... I really hope they fix this fast.

I have to agree with that, while I don't typically use my DNC, it'd be nice to have a good dagger option since I have no luck with Atoyac.

i dont know but outside of this issue.... holy crap the rewards are amazing. Before I even bothered to look at them I had 30k sparks and the gear is amazing considering the amount of work needed....

Just don't get fooled by the first time completion bonus. Points are going to come in slower after that initial burst. Not to compare SE to drug dealers, but you're getting a freebie to lure you in. The next 30k points are going to cost you a lot more time. Don't get me wrong, it's a great system and I'm glad they added it. I just know that it'll be a bit more grindy once we're past the bonus stage.

I wouldn't grind it specifically for the gear, I'd just get the point while I'm doing other stuff I'd be doing anyway and anything I'd end up buying would be a bonus.

Yeah, pretty much buy what you need, then save up for things you might need later.

Oh, i know, but the longer tests, which go by really quick if you level a monster in a capped area, still give a lot. But this content rewards gear thats like just a notch below delve. The only downside is that it's old ugly gear styles from original XI.
