Hello everybody, just wanted to give out a nice big fat welcome to the newest arrivals in Vana'diel. The Slime and the Spriggan!
Now to let everyone know ahead of time, I can only cover the San d'Orian segment of this little tutorial, as I haven't had a chance to find out the layout of the other zones.
First and foremost I'd like to take a moment to explain the system in which this event runs.
The Slime is from the game DragonQuest, and having come to Vana'diel, the player must 'capture' (Because killing pissed off PETA) the Slimes after having spoken to the little guy sitting on his box in Southern San'doria, in front of the gate that leads to East Ronfaure. You can't miss him really, but he will tell you the situation, and will teleport you out of the city and into East Ronfaure, where you will meet his other compatriot. This one will reduce your level to -1- and it is your job to hunt down every slime you can.
You killed your first slime! Great job adventurer, but you probably noticed it said you now have 1 slime coin. Going back to the little slime who gave you the level cap, and ask him to teleport you back to town, because walking 200 steps is just so 2003.
Back in the city? Thought so, ok so talking to the slime you can now view the prizes. Oh my, the prizes are worth several slime coins, but at least you know you can get them soon. Oh well, hey there's some candy, why not try it out?
Selecting the candy requires only 1 coin, but as it's only a piece of candy, take a guess what it can do. THAT'S RIGHT! YOU'VE BEEN SLIMIFIED! Feel free to bother your friends in the adorable costume effect changing you into nothing short of a small blue blob hopping around town.

The Spriggan is a little mischievous fella from the land of Eorzea, or the land in which FFXIV takes place. But somehow a whole batch of them got loose in Vana'diel! Oh well, talking to the Moogle in front of the gate in front of West Ronfaure, you can tell he is affiliated with this event because of the little devil sitting beside him...
So talking to him the layout is exactly the same, get teleported outside, talk to the moogle again to get your level capped at -1-, but THIS TIME you're hunting Spriggans. Again capturing is the name of the game, since PETA won't like it if a bunch of dead fuzzies were sent home. Like the slimes, you get a point value for each kill, so going back into the city you can now select a prize right?
WRONG!
This system differs from the Slime event, as the Slime is more straightforward and honest, this little point system works as a roulette. Instead of saving up points, these points are used to play a roulette with 3 categories. More points, more spins, more chances at that lavish Spriggan coat.

That's the gist of this event everybody, please note that Slimes can only be found in East Ronfaure, while Spriggans are trapped in West Ronfaure if you're a San d'Orian local!
